5. Safety Precaution During operation:

Ensure no permit to work is pending on regarding this system
by checking with.

6. Brief Description Of The System:

ACW PUMP: Auxiliary cooling water pumps supply cooling water at the
required flow rate and head for the cooling of DMCWTG side 3 Nos and
boiler side 2 Nos.

b. MCC not disturbed.

c. Pump discharge valve close.
d. Pump suction valve open.
e. Pump suction pressure adequate 1kg/Cm2
f. Suction pressure switch healthy.
9. Starting Procedure:

Pre Startup:
a. Ensure no permit is pending on the system.
b. Power and control supply are healthy.
c. Ensure suction valve in open condition.
d. Ensure discharge valve in close condition.
e. Ensure power and control supply is healthy for discharge MOV
and it is in remote.
f. Ensure all protections are working.
g. Ensure temperature and vibration probes are fitted and are in
working condition.
h. Ensure local pressure and temperature gauges are fitted and are
in working condition.
i. Ensure minimum one PHE is in service for sufficient flow through
pump.
j. Ensure air venting of pump and other piping is done.
k. Ensure some equipment of boiler and TG side are charged..
l. Start one ACW pump.

Post Start:

a. Discharge MOV will get fully open in auto.

b. Check the discharge pressure, current, bearing temperature,
vibrations are normal.
c. Close all line and pump air vents
d. Check for any water leakages from the pump glands and ACW line.
e. Put standby interlock in service.

10. Stop Procedure:

a. Confirm the ACW is not required for cooling of any system.

b.Release the standby interlock of the pump.

c.Check discharge valve in remote position.
d.Check power and control supply is healthy for discharge MOV.
e.Stop the ACW pump, check the discharge valve closed in auto or not
if not close it manually.
f. Check the pump is not rotating in reverse direction.

12. Isolating procedure / Safety Aspects:

Electrical Isolation:

a. Follow proper channel for isolation.

b. ACW pump breaker taken in local mode, DC supply OFF and main
breaker racked out and tag with PTW number and lockout.
c. ACW pump local push button pressed.

Mechanical Isolation:

a. All permit & standard isolation procedure will be followed.

b. Suction and discharge valve should be in close condition.

Refer breaker and module in power supply details.

13. Emergency Operation:

a. ACW Pump Bearing temperature Increasing:
1. Check oil level should normal and proper cooling is continue
