Activity The teacher will start the lesson by stating that energy is the ability to do work, that it appears in different forms,
and be transferred or transformed. Next, the teacher will identify different sources of energy and to meet this
standards they will be expected to identify the difference between renewable energy, non-renewable energy, and
become familiar with sources of energy that is used every day. Then, the teacher will ask the students to
brainstorm other sources of renewable and non-renewable energy. The teacher will then read a story titled Potato
Clocks and Solar Cars by Elizabeth Raum. After the story, the students will split into two groups. The two group will
be assigned to create a poster on non-renewable and renewable energy. For homework, the students will be asked
to create a storyboard presentation using Storyboard That through the website.

The homework assignment should include the following:

1. The student will create up to five slides


2. The first slide will contain a picture of an object that receives energy from the sun
3. The next slide will provide a definition of renewable energy. On the same slide, or on another slide, the
student will provide pictures on sources of renewable energy.
4. The following side will provide a definition of non-renewable energy. On the same slide, or on another
slide, the student will provide pictures on sources of non-renewable energy.
