Diversity Reflection 2

1. After participating in this assignment, I know more about cultures. This

assignment gave me a deeper understanding of it. For example, I learn more about the

special food and architecture of different places. Moreover, it increased my curiosity

about culture and made me want to understand cultural differences more deeply.

2. Video of our interview with Professor Danny resonated the most me.

Especially the answer to the question that what should we do when facing the culture

diversity resonated with me. He said people should respect the existence of different

cultures and the differences between cultures. I think what he said is right. For

cultural differences, people should communicate as equals and learn from each other.

3. Yes, it will. To give an example, I did not understand people in India eating

with their hands before, and felt that it was very unhygienic. However, after I finished

this assignment, I understood that it was because of cultural differences that caused

our different ways of eating. I respected and understood their behavior.

4. Yes, I will. Doing anything differently or thinking differently may give me

unexpected results. It is useful when I solve problems.

5. I have differences in eating habits and accents with my peers in Wenzhou. I

think this difference is normal, and I will respect their culture.

6. I think these these video don’t change my worldview. What the video reveals is

that the worldview is similar to mine.

7. The Wenzhou-Kean students video reveal that they allow different cultures to

exist and believe that cultures should communicate with each other and respect each

other.

8. They are similar. We all respect cultural differences. We accept all different

cultures, and we will learn from the excellent cultures of other countries to develop

ourselves. We will resolutely resist the corrupt and backward spiritual culture of other

countries.
