Kj / inch, Manually calculated value, reference

MAX calc'd HEAT INPUT from a single weld bead pass in the PQR Test Coupon (Kj / in) = 45.3 only, NO affect on table value calculations

Kj / inch, Manually calculated value, reference

MAX calc'd HEAT INPUT from the AVG of ALL weld passes in the PQR Test Coupon (Kj / in) = 41.2 only, NO affect on table value calculations.
(AVERAGE can use ALL passes or discard highest
and lowest, and take new average)

MAXIMUM ALLOWED Heat Input on Production WPS =

Kj / inch Manually calculated value,.
X 100% of the MAX calculated Heat Input of the PQR
or ... 90% of the MAX calculated Heat Input of the PQR 41.2 If this values is changed, all MAX HEAT
INPUT travel speeds will be re-calc'd

MINIMUM ALLOWED Heat Input on Production WPS = Kj / inch, This cell auto-updates if MAX

Notes:
1) Travel speeds for each Amp-Volt combination are calculated using the formula in AWS 5.12, 2002 Edition.
2) Travel speeds for each Amp-Volt combination are calculated to be between 60% to (90 or 100%) of the allowed max heat input in ALL cases (i.e. between (0 or 10%) and 40% below the max
allowed).
3) To update ALL calculations, simply type in the new MAX heat input, and / or the new AVG MAX heat input. All other values are calculated automatically from the MAX ALLOWED HEAT INPUT .
4) If any AMP or VOLT values are changed, the table will also automatically update the travel speeds.
