Introduction:
The method of carving wood, using hand tools, is carpentry. The items produced are
used in the construction of structures, such as doors and windows, the production of
furniture. Carpentry work consists primarily of joining wooden parts together and
completing the surfaces after shaping them.

Objectives
Produce wooden items within given dimensions and design that can be joined in order
to have a wooden chair within that can be used at the university premises.

Materials Used
Suitable wood type based on the requirements and specifications needed.

Required Machines and Tools

 Right angle tool
 Soft file
 Triangle file
 Coarse file
 Chisel
 Hammer
 Ruler
 Hammer
 Moving Circular Saw
 Meter

Procedure
1. we had an unshaped piece of wood, we started cutting and trimming the long
slab into shorter pieces by using the circular saw until we got the wanted sizes
and shapes.
2. the surface planner was used to shave the surface from both sides and to make
parallel to each other to help the surface to become flat without scratches.
3. The circular saw was used again to cut the slab into four equal pieces that are
56mm in width, 42cm in height. Also, the bench flat was used to adjust the
thickness.
4. After the four legs were made with the right dimensions, we took a pencil and a
steel rule and started drawing on the pieces, the length, the width that we were
going to remove in order to make the joints fir perfectly.

Chair joins:
1. We start by cutting 8 pieces of wood and makes 4 short pieces and 4 long
pieces.
2. The short pieces must be cut into 20cm long, 44mm width 22mm thickness,
and the long pieces into 25cm long, 44mm width and 22mm thickness.
3. After cutting all the pieces using the circular saw, we use the electric
adjustable angle to form angles to the wooden pieces then we use the
wooden file and soft wooden file on the angles to make it fit easier to the chair
legs.

Assembling the chair:

This is the final step. After making sure that everything and the measurements went as
planned, we start preparing the chair by taking two long chair legs and joining the short
join on the top and the long on in the middle on their right. We repeat this step with all
the pieces left and joining them together to get a good quality chair to use.

Discussion:
The story of a chair begins with a tree. We select only the bottom section of the tree that
has a good quality to use it on chair formation process.

Each part of the chair is made using state-of-the-art equipment (Manual and automatic
tools) and then assembled easily with utmost precision. A well-thought-out and created
product brings more significance to our environment than a lot of people might think.
Conclusion and Recommendations:
The basic steps to make any chair is to, choose the suitable wooden material, be
accurate in drawing the measurements on the wood, cutting the wood in a right and
even way, well use of the wooden file. After finishing the process, we need to make sure
that it is built in the right way and all the pieces fit correctly in their place and good to be
used.

Recommendations:
1)A clean place and tools

2)More lightning in the working area

Safety precautions:

 Hazards:
1. Inhalation of Wood Particles
2. Injury in one of the fingers
3. Eye injury due to wood atoms
4. Fall of wood equipment on the worker

 Precautions while working:

1. Use of Air pullers to pull Atoms of wood
2. Injury in one of the fingers
3. Wearing Proper shoes and cost
4. Wearing Safety Googles
 Required Personal Protective devices
1. Googles
2. First Aid Kit
3. Gloves
4. Coat
5. Shoes

Development for Experiment:

1. Clean the area more
2. Take more safety precautions to prevent accidents
3. Use more accurate devices to reduce errors
