Would you like a brochure?
1 Divide the class into pairs and hand out
the students’ worksheets.
Ask students to work together to match
the phrases. Then ask students to practise
saying the phrases.
You could ask students to improvise a
conversation in pairs using the phrases.
Write Last weekend, Andy and Steve
wanted to go to Brighton… Ask students in
pairs to prepare and tell the story of their
trip using the past tense. Ask different
pairs to tell their stories.
3 In pairs, students prepare conversations
between Andy or Steve and the ticket
sellers based on the pictures. Monitor and
help with ideas and vocabulary.

2 Ask students to look at the pictures and
introduce Andy and Steve. Look at the
story of Andy and Steve’s trip to Brighton
(a seaside town on the south coast of
England). You may need to pre-teach It
was rainy and It was sunny. Ask:
4 Ask different pairs to act out one of their
conversations. Ask the rest of the class to
listen and say where Andy and Steve are
and who they are talking to.
5 Writing
Ask students to write up one of the
conversations.
