inset is a way to enhance teacher’s and learner’s skills as well. Ma’am Fatima Punongbayan
also gave an encouraging message. She stressed that everything won’t stop, we must keep on
striving.

To acknowledge everybody’s presence Mrs. Lorentina C. Eder, Master Teacher I

Edukalidad Para sa Bata, Para sa Bayan” once each grade level was called. Then, Mr.
Ferdinand Tenorio, presented the Matrix for the whole week’s inset.

During the presentation proper, Mrs. Consuelo Tiongson, Master Teacher II was
the first speaker. She dealt with the topic “Trends and Issues Encountered in the New
Normal (Monitoring and Evaluation)”. She presented videos captured in Social Media
such as errors from Self Learning Module, a child giving comments about what she had read
and the struggle of learners at home. Mrs. Tiongson also mentioned that the purpose of
monitoring and evaluation is to track implementation and output systematically and measure
the effectiveness of programs. She also said that we teachers must stop once in a while and
reflect on the following: retrieval and distribution of SLM (Self- Learning Modules), MELCs,
WHLP, Online Classes, Learners Output, Parents’ Response and Community. Then she
asked the participants to make an activity called “Commitment Collar”

Next speaker was Mr. Ferdinand Tenorio, Master Teacher I. He discussed about
“Dangers of Social Media” such as social media has a negative impact on academic
performance, hyper networking is associated with negative health consequences such as
suicide, poor sleep pattern and depression, it increases the feeling of envy, using facebook
during work shaves off an average of 1.5% of office productivity, it encourages the user to
share the events of their personal lives, cyberbullying and hackers. He also cited the expert’s
advice: make sure kids are not sharing too many details online, make sure kids know all their
followers personally, refrain from posting about vacations on social media and reminding
your child that you love and support them.
After the discussion he asked the participants by group to make an output regarding
Challenges Encountered, Effects on Learners, and Solution made.

Open forum was held after the discussion.

That ends the fruitful day.
