Identify some of the established recruiting techniques that apparently underlie Trilogy’s unconventional
approach to attracting talent. What particular elements of Trilogy’s culture most likely appeal to the kind of
employees it seeks?

Trilogy uses as they put, “very unorthodox” techniques to hire, train, and continue pushing their business.
Some of these techniques include, having no dress code, choosing your own availability, a well-stocked snack
collection in the office and also company trips to exciting place like Vegas and Hawaii, as well as good pay.
The kicker is majority of the employees are fresh out of college as the average age is 26. The young adults
could see all these benefits as an extension of college. We all hear that college is the best years of your life, and
Trilogy’s approach is basically, “Why leave college when we can bring it to you and pay you for it. Even in the
grueling training process, there are still fun activities that attract this younger crowd.

b. How does it convey these elements to job prospects?

Trilogy is actually pretty honest with their prospects. They let them know of the hard work that they have to

m
put in to get into the company and the work that comes after. The flip side is that they make sure to highlight

er as
the “payoff” for their hard work. Through these legendary trips, they honestly don’t have to do much outside
advertising as word carries. Also, the fact that the employer is willing to go through all these leaps and bound

co
for the workers that they want to convey these elements

c. Would Trilogy be an appealing employer for you? Why or why not?

rs e
Overall, yes. I personally work better in an environment where I can be myself. If I am coming to work in
ou urc
comfortable sneakers and clothing, I would be able to work longer. My focus halfway through the day doesn’t
shift to, “oh I can’t wait to get home and change”, or “my feet hurt I can’t wait to leave. Having a better
relationship with those around me would make me happier to get up in the morning and come to work. Also,
o

the company trips for me would be an incentive to work harder so that my work would pay off even more.

d. If not, what would it take for you to accept a job offer from Trilogy?

e. What suggestions would you make to Trilogy for improving its recruiting processes?

ed d

There are a couple things to note that could potentially backfire. When hiring a lot of people straight out of
ar stu

college, you do have that lack of experience. That could come back to bite them in the ass when you start to
have more and more people want to work for you company just for the benefits and feel that they don’t have
to work. Also, with the way that Trilogy has their company set up and being so laid back, it could potentially
bring up ore complaints and concerns not only from those outside the job, but those employees who feel like
sh is

they work harder than everyone else or may get distracted because others are doing their own thing. The
diversity level must also be low due to the young employees. It seems that once someone is finally past the
Th

party stage of their life they might not want to continually be in that work environment and could leave or
feel they are not being treated with the same respect.
