Advertisement

Introduction: Advertisement means making a thing known to the people commercially.


We live in an age of publicity. Advertisement are designed to promote the particular
interest of a particular person, because the sale of product.

Oral publicity by far the more ancient form of advertisement is carried on by hawkers.
Today advertisement in print, internet, and television media is more essential and
extensive form.

Advantages: Advertising has many advantages. In modern business world, advertising


plays an important role to establish contact between the buyer and seller. Advertising is
the medium through which the customer comes to know of the existence and the utility
of the items available in the market.In modern times, the business world has become
very complex with keen competition. So businessmen spend huge amount of money on
advertisement and this is a highly profitable investment because they know if they
capture a particular area then it is very profitable investment. And there is saying in
india “ Jo dikhta Hai wo Hi Bikta Hai ”

Advertising Medias: Internet and online media, Newspapers, Magazine, cinema slides,


wall hoardings, banners, radio and television are the various mediums of advertising.
Out of these medium Mouth Publicity is the best medium of advertisement.

Art of Advertising: Advertising is not an easy art. The technicians in this field have so
developed the laws of psychology that they are able to determine the degree of
receptiveness of sense organs, particularly vision and hearing and the intensity of
external action on such organs to produce the particular effect desired.

Disadvantages: Advertisement, however, is not without demerits. According to a


customer, It does not allow cheap and good articles to reach the market. It creates
artificial demand for things which we do not require. It forces us to buy costly things. It
creates disharmony in the family when our young members want such advertised goods
which we cannot afford. But the most harmful effect of advertisement is seen on the
moral field.

Conclusion: In spite of the fact that advertising has some disadvantages, the role of
advertising in promotion and launch of a product is immense.
