2nd Biñan Christmas Choral Fiesta

Mechanics:

1. The 2nd Biñan Christmas Choral Fiesta is open for all choral
groups, church, community or school-based, in the City of Biñan.
2. Each group must have a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 12
singers, excluding the conductor.
3. Singers and conductor could only perform for one choral group.
4. Contestants shall perform 3 songs.
a. The first song is the Contest Piece: “Ilang Tulog Pa Ba?”.
Minus-one shall be provided by the organizers.
b. This would be followed by any Christmas Song (Choice
Piece), either in English or Filipino and must be performed
in A Cappella.
c. The third song which the choir should perform is Munting
Sanggol by Mr. Ryan Cayabyab. Minus-one shall be
provided by the organizers.
5. The use of props and set pieces are not allowed. Choreography
is encouraged.
6. The judges’ decision is final and irrefutable.
 Criteria for Judging:

For the contest piece: Ilang Tulog Pa Ba?

1. Musicality, embraces the vocal attack, quality, color and texture
- 30%
2. Harmony - 30%
3. Interpretation is 20%
4. Stage Deportment, this includes costumes, movement, stage
presence and showmanship is 20%
For a total of 100%

For the choice piece

1. Musicality, which includes Vocal Attack and Quality, Musical
Color and Texture is 30%
2. Harmony, which covers Tonality and musical blend is 30%
3. Interpretation, comprised of dynamics, rendition, interpretation
according to genre is 20%
4. Relevance is 20%
For a total of 100%

For the Munting Sanggol

1. Musicality (Vocal Quality, Texture)- 30%
2. Harmony (Blend, Tonality)- 30%
3. Interpretation (Dynamics, Rendition) - 20%
4. Audience Impact is 20%
For a total of 100%

The total of ALL three (3) songs shall be added then divided by 3.

Prizes:
Grand Champion: 15,000.00
1st Runner Up: 10,000.00
Consolation Prize: 5,000.00
