Game: smack it, whack it

Game purpose:
In this game we are trying to create a fun and easy to play game with a light atmosphere. We
hope that all people participating will be engaged and paying attention, even if their group is not
the one currently playing. Not only are we hoping to let the group have fun, but we are also
hoping to better our leadership skills and be able to adapt when plans change at the last minute.

Debrief questions:

- If you could add or take away anything from this game, what would you do?
- Did our game help show the purpose we were going for, even with what you might have
thought was unnecessary?

Directions:
● To start off the game put everyone into groups of four
● Then, the first round would start and the groups would choose who they want to be the
throwers or the hitters
● There will be two throwers and two hitters
● Each thrower will only be able to throw to a certain hitter
● The group will have 1 minute to attempt to get all 27 balls into the baskets
● Some baskets will have a higher score over others
● None of the participants should pick up any of the balls that are on the ground
● None of the participants should touch the balls that land in the baskets until the round is
over
● At the end of the round the team will add up their score
● Then the next teams will go and repeat the same process
● Once all of the teams have gone we will see who had the highest score
● There will be four different stages

● The first will be the thrower starting a little farther forward and throwing with their
dominant hand
● The second will be the thrower starting farther back and throwing with their dominant
hand
● The third will be the thrower starting farther up and throwing with their non dominant
hand
● The fourth round will be the thrower starting father back and throwing with their
non-dominant hand

Game rules:
● You have to hit the ball with your hand flat
● You have 2 people uptop hitting the balls and 2 people who throws the ball
● Groups of 4
● Each round is one minute

Safety rules:
● Have both feet flat on the platform when up there at all times unless you are walking
before or after the rounds
● When climbing the ladder to the platform, have at least one point of contact at all times
(one hand and one foot)
● Always have a spotter when going up and down the ladder
● Do not lean against any of the railings and wall to the point where your shoulders are
over the railing and/or you are standing on your tippy toes
● If a ball is too high or you are unable to hit it, let it go by you or catch it and drop it to the
ground
● Do not throw any of the balls back to the throwers (if you catch it or it somehow lands by
your feet) during your round
● Make sure the hitters at the top are paying attention and ready for you to throw a ball to
them so you do not hit them
● Since you are in groups of four and two people for the two parts (hitters and throwers),
the throwers and hitters should discuss who they plan to throw to the entire time so you
don't hit anyone
● When emptying the baskets, both feet should continue to stay on the ground
● Any team's not interacting with the element should continue to pay attention just in case
a ball flies their way (unlikely) so they can catch or dodge it
● Any team's not interacting with the element should stand to the side so they can see the
other players during their turn but not be too close to the element (since there will be
many balls everywhere)
