NICE Logger Preinstallation Considerations PDF
NICE Logger Preinstallation Considerations PDF
IMPORTANT
We recommend using a UPS system with maximum backup time equal to the maximum backup
time of the UPS system used for the network.
• If your site does not include a suitable UPS system, in the event of a power failure, vital
audio will not be recorded. In sites using a UPS system, the UPS system should be installed
according to the instructions provided with the UPS components. A NICE reseller should
install the UPS system only in sites where such an agreement is contractual. Otherwise,
UPS systems should be installed only by qualified personnel contracted by the customer.
• Do not simultaneously power-up more than one Logger or a Logger with other devices at the
same time. Power-up currents are significantly higher than steady-state currents!
Environmental Considerations
Location Considerations
This section describes optimal location conditions for NICE VoIP equipment:
• Do not position the Logger in locations prone to excesses of heat or humidity, such as near
heaters or heating system outputs, or in direct sunlight. Avoid positioning the Logger in
excessively damp or dry environments, as extremes of humidity can damage the Logger
internal components.
Conditions for the Logger should be maintained as follows:
NOTE: Working in the optimal range is necessary for long life expectancy. We do not
recommend running the Logger outside the optimal range for long periods of time.
• The Logger must be installed in a clean, well-ventilated, air conditioned, room. If adequate
ventilation is not provided, the Logger can overheat.
• Do not position the Logger near strong magnetic fields, such as near transformers, or other
electrical equipment.
• Due to the sensitivity of the data that is handled by the NICE VoIP Logger, place the Logger in
a locked room to which only authorized personnel have access. And if possible, lock the rack
to which the Logger is mounted.
• Do not position the Logger where people are likely to eat or drink, as liquids can damage the
Logger internal components.
• Do not position the Logger in an area where people smoke.
• Dirt (e.g., dust particles, smoke) near the Logger can cause damage. Do not position the
Logger near doors or walkways that are used frequently, on or close to the floor, or near any
surfaces that tend to collect dust. Do not position the Logger near printers or paper products
that create dust.
• The room where the Logger is located should be cleaned regularly. If the general environment
is dirty, consider installing an air cleaning system.
• Avoid carpets and furnishings with synthetic materials, if possible, in the area where the
Logger will be positioned. If static is likely to be a problem, place anti-static mats around the
working area. Be careful when bringing objects near the Logger, which can hold a large static
charge. Keep unnecessary plastic or paper products away from the area.
