Dear Madam or Sir,

I am very pleased to recommend Jackson Eggerd as part of his senior portfolio. As a mentor for FIRST
Robotics Competition Team 5203, it has been my pleasure to work with Jackson for the past four years
as he applied his strong motivation, sense of responsibility, and technical excellence to our team
ambitions.

After joining our team, Jackson quickly demonstrated significant skill as a computer programmer. He has
consistently gone beyond what is required for our robot and team to function, and in so doing he has
significantly improved the team experience for many others in our organization. For one of our open
house events, Jackson not only provided the code which allowed new students to drive our competition
robots, but also provided a custom video game, programmed in the Unity game engine, demonstrating
what team members can aspire to achieve as part of our programming group. Jackson has progressed
well beyond the initial stages of computer programming, and is very focused on not just the outcome,
but the method and even artistry through which good code is developed.

Jackson has consistently demonstrated not only the skill required as a programmer, but self-driven
responsibility to ensure that our equipment is functioning at the best possible level. Jackson has been
with the team four years, and that’s the same amount of time that I have not worried about the
appropriate updates and maintenance being completed for our computer equipment – each year,
Jackson has made sure that everything is running in the best possible condition for our hardware.

Finally, Jackson has always been a motivated member of our team; he politely but insistently drives his
teammates and coaches to a high standard. With keen observation, Jackson calmly evaluates each
challenge that we face and provides potential solutions. He listens to his teammates but is always ready
to engage in discussion and help our team achieve our objectives.

It is without reservation or hesitation that I recommend Jackson Eggerd. He is a hard worker, ready to
solve problems, engage, and lead.
