The Teachers’ Roles Based on

the Understanding of
Child Development
and Learning
As a teacher, we have roles and qualities that we show to our dear
students; not only because that’s what we need to perceive but
because that’s what we want our students to adopt and learn from us.
A good character and qualities that helps them to develop their
character as a student and as a person. I believe that good teachers
empower their students and get them to think beyond themselves
with the goal that they will serve others in a positive manner. As a
teacher, we are the one who should provide resources for our
students; it can be syllabus, handouts, videoclip and many more. From
that we already showed our role as their teacher. According to
Howard Gardner, students have multiple intelligence; meaning if they
can’t do a specific task maybe they are more skilled with the other
task. That’s why from this, the teacher should be an instructional
specialist. Wherein they can adjust and be versatile for their delivery
mode and teaching aids. Teachers shouldn’t be stagnant for one type
of activity but always consider the students’ abilities and talents.
