Migrating to the UK in 2006, I was unable to understand the English language and faced a lot of hardship

adapting to a completely foreign environment. But with immense handwork, sheer efforts, and support
from my dedicated teachers at All Saints CE primary school I developed a good grasp of the English
language and soon started excelling in my overall studies as I gradually familiarized myself with the
changes in my surrounding. With the adaptive qualities I have learned along the way. I am optimistic
that I will adapt well to fit the requirements of the finance world too.

My family has been no stranger to severe financial constraints in our past. However, this unfortunate
past has had its few benefits, having a lasting impact on the person I have become today. I have learned
effective budgeting techniques, mature and prompt decision making, investment planning, sustainable
development, and self-control all at a young age. And most importantly, a deep-rooted motivation to
strive for excellence by acquiring quality education and becoming successful in my career so I can
improve quality of life for myself and my family. I believe your prestigious institution is the best way to
pursue this dream.

I see myself as a successful business consultant in the future as I believe I am skilled in analyzing data
and suggesting alterations accordance to every possible solution in the book as well as deriving on spot
new and advance practical solutions due to my ability of quick thinking. I am particularly intrigued by the
work put into financial business decisions and how minor changes in financial plans can bring companies
to ruins or bring about profits worth of millions all within seconds. Furthermore, I have a keen interest in
Mathematics and its real-life application. As a student with a predominantly sciences background, I am
of the opinion that I can integrate a scientific approach into the finance world. A- Levels Mathematics
and Physics have taught me skills of analytical and logical thinking necessary for problem-solving in
every aspect of life. I even took up Additional Mathematics as my 10 Th O level subject, as I thoroughly
enjoyed challenging my capabilities to the fullest. Taking up Urdu as an extra A-level subject helped me
tap into my full potential of juggling a languages subject with sciences subjects. With the courses,
opportunities and world class professors at your renowned university I will be able to fulfill my career
aspirations of eventually attaining the ICAEW qualification.

Besides my education, I am extremely passionate about Football. Coming from a patriarchal and sexist
society, I overcame all the difficulties and lack of opportunities for women to pursue a sport in Pakistan.
After years of strenuous efforts and dedication, I made it to the Under-19 Women’s National Team
winning a gold medal in 2018 and going on to participate in Open Women Nationals 2019. Moreover, I
was the captain of my school, college and club where I learned to negotiate and reasonably argue my
case and developed my ability to lead with vision and maturity. Hence, undertaking the responsibility of
being the team captain I was able to lead my team to numerous interschool and interclub victories.
Being the Sports Associate at ROOTS IVY, I showcased my enthusiasm for sports by making it to all the
sports team during my schooling and winning multiple award and medals.

Growing up in an LEDC and then migrating to the UK, a developed economy, I saw the dire conditions
that people around me are living in. Being more fortunate than them, I believed it was my responsibility
to help the needy. I organized multiple Bake Sale events, charity carnivals at my school and raised funds
for Diamer Bhasha Dam. In addition, I volunteered at the Rizq foundation and personally delivered food
to the poverty-stricken people’s homes. Seeing the smile on their faces brought about an inner
satisfaction and helped me find a sense of purpose. It was truly re experience. To see life through to
perspective of transgenders, I prepared a documentary on the living conditions of transgenders visiting
their homes and spending time with them. On account of my social work and my demonstrated interest
on the environment, I was nominated by my college to attend the Washington Youth Summit on the
Environment but I was unable to attend due to personal reasons.

I was also the Deputy Director Registrations and acting chair at the IVY MUN 2020, the first ever virtual
MUN in Pakistan. Even though, me and my team were skeptical of undertaking such a responsibility in
such trying times and scared of the response we would receive, we were overwhelmed by the positive
response and hosted a tremendously successful event even while the whole world was on Lockdown.
