Data Center Facility Engineer
We are looking for a Data Center Engineer to support a critical data center. The Critical
Facility Engineer will be responsible for monitoring compliance with contractual
commitments, directing technical and administrative tasks related to the operation of the
critical facility infrastructure and assuring compliance with company’s policies and
procedures. The Data Center is a 7x24x365 a year operation. Our client has openings
for first, second and 3rd shifts. We have positions that are both electrical and for
mechanical facilities positions.
 
Responsibilities

 Troubleshoot and Run Diagnostics


 Conduct Preventive Maintenance and Emergency Repairs on Critical Facilities
Equipment within the Data Center as specified and on schedule
 Participates in the preparation of analyses and reports on the data center
infrastructure, develops project plans and conducts briefings and presentations
 Operate and perform both routine and emergency service on a variety of state-of-
the-art critical systems, including but not limited to; medium voltage switchgear,
diesel generators, paralleling switchboards, UPS, PDU, and building monitoring
systems
 Operate and perform both routine and emergency service on chillers, HVAC,
cooling towers, computer room air handlers, fire detection / suppression
 Ensures that operational, maintenance and emergency methods of procedure
(MOP’s and SOP’s) are developed and strictly adhered to
 Assist with CMMS database management.

 
Requirements

 5 years + of relevant experience (experience with power, electrical and


mechanical equipment including generators, critical and essential PDU’s, UPS,
switchgear, Air handling units, computer grade cooling systems, Chillers, CRAC /
CRAH Units, DC Power Systems, and building monitoring / control systems)
 Data Center Operations Experience
 Must have the technical knowledge and practical experience of operating,
troubleshooting and maintenance of Mission Critical Mechanical and/or Electrical
Support Systems
 Relevant Certifications in facilities a huge plus
 Previous experience in the Military / Military veterans in all branches that have
experience with Electrical / Mechanical is a huge plus (Navy nukes- EMN, ETN,
MMNs, SeaBees, Army -  Power Generation, Air Force – Power Production,
Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, etc)

Data Center MEP Superintendent – Salt Lake City, UT
 
Responsible for field activities associated with the project, including supervision of all
field construction work by electrical and mechanical subcontractors and self-performed
work. Keep in constant contact with Subcontractors to ensure timely work to keep
project on time / within budget. Ensures equipment purchased is in onsite at the project
when needed. Shares responsibility with the construction project manager for
developing the project budget, actively participating in the preconstruction phase, and
ensuring that the project is built on time, within budget, and according to company
policies and procedures. Manages and mentors assistant project managers and other
field personnel. Maintains a relentless focus on meeting and exceeding customer needs
and expectations through the life of the project.

Responsibilities:

 Maintain liaison with primary client, A/E firm, Owner's Rep firm, Construction
Project Manager, subcontractors and any other vendors needed to facilitate
construction activities at the data center job site.
 Establishes and manages the critical work environment project objectives,
performance standards,  planning and Methods of Procedure and be within
boundaries of  corporate policies to ensure minimization of human error factors
which could cause down time during work processes
 Provides leadership of all field related MEP mission critical work activities and
coordinates with Construction Project Manager and Subcontractors for proper
execution.
 Keeps all relative parties informed of project’s progress throughout the life of the
project.
 Detailed understanding of all MEP systems to include size up, costs, scheduling
timeline, quality control focus points, system start-up, commissioning,
troubleshooting, etc.
 Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment,
income/expenses) to protect the company’s interest and simultaneously maintain
good relationship with the client.
 Ensures that project site and company assets are secure and maintains a safe
and respectful working environment at all times by implementing programs for
safety / OSHA, Equal Employment Opportunity / EEO, risk management,
training, and quality control.
 Confirms that extra charges from subcontractors/suppliers are reasonable and
work is correctly executed. Coordinates with project manager for approval on
extra charges.
 Facilitates weekly project progress and safety meetings with all subcontractor
representatives and coordinates the upcoming week’s work to be accomplished.
Attends all progress meetings with the owner’s rep / data center construction
Project manager
 Ensures that the project closeout process is finalized, demobilize all resources,
and transition the project to the client.

 
Requirements:

 8+ years of data center / critical facilities MEP Construction experience. (project


size, scope, and complexity the years of experience will also be a large factor)
 Detailed understanding of Mechanical and Electrical systems to include
integrated testing, MOPs/ SOPs  of installation, functionality and troubleshooting;
etc
 Budget responsibilities must be in excess of 50mm - 100mm + to be considered.
 Experience in directing and/or supporting the commissioning effort.
 Demonstrates solid presentation, verbal, written and communication skills.
 Demonstrates proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company
communication tools, such as email, internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word,
Excel, Office, Outlook, Powerpoint, MS Project, Timberline, etc).
 Previous administrative experience managing change orders, billing, creating
reports, etc

Electrical Commissioning Engineer - NJ

 Manage projects, plans, provide and gather specifications, and execute


assignments in a multidisciplinary engineering Commissioning role for large
facility projects.

Data Center Facility Operations Director - Ashburn, VA
We are looking for an experienced Data Center Facility Operations Director to support
multiple data centers. The Director will be responsible for managing the overall quality
and service of the operation and maintenance of multiple critical facility infrastructure
systems in accordance with company's policies and procedures. These Data Centers
are a 7x24x365 a year operation. The director will work with the data center facility
managers in maintaining the relationships with various customers. The successful
candidate will oversee the work performed by in-house data center facility manager to
ensure each site is meeting the high and dynamic standards of their internal customers.
The successful candidate will also provide consistent leadership and support through
planning, communicating, and managing a team of professionals responsible to deliver
data center facility services. Responsibilities include the delivery of quality and
consistent services and support as established by the Corporation while satisfying
unique customer requirements, managing issue resolution and ensuring proper
performance reporting of key metrics for the region, establishing goals and objectives
for the region based on strategic and business plans of the corporation.

Responsibilities:

 Performing periodic site walk-throughs in order to ensure Company’s procedures


(SOPS and MOPS) and standards are followed. This includes assisting the
Facilities Manager, Technicians and any other contracted vendors.
 Identifying any vulnerabilities while overseeing 3 rd Party Critical Facilities onsite
team.
 Communicating the status of the operation process with senior management and
onsite customers.
 Site acceptance and commissioning of the facility to ensure the site meets the
superior and dynamic standards of Company Standards.
 Acting as liaison and coordinating efforts between the contracted vendors and
the onsite customers.
 Oversee the development of procedures/Method of Procedures (MOPs) for the
DC build in addition to approving MOPs for data hall work.
 Participating in the interview process for prospective candidates applying to this
critical facility.
 Auditing installed data center components. This audit will be used to verify the
completion of the job scope by the vendor in addition to verifying the design
documentation for the build-out and ongoing operations of the data hall space.
 Provide strategic / tactical leadership with a background in best practices  related
to operations  for performance and reliability on a variety of state of the art critical
systems such as: medium voltage switchgear, diesel generators, UPS systems,
power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air
handlers, fire detection / suppression; building monitoring systems; etc
 Supervise the on-site management the facility manager, facility technicians, sub-

 Manage Customer Relationship and act as escalation point of contact for the

A fully competent Battery Technician - Applies an intensive and diversified knowledge of
complete start-up, testing and operations. Responsible for commissioning, maintaining
and providing emergency support on power electronics at customers’ sites within their
respective regional coverage area. Performs commissioning focused design reviews,
prepares commissioning test procedures and reports, coordinates and oversees on-site
testing. When not in field involved in preventive maintenance, emergency response,
equipment start-up and/or field modification, candidate will occasionally train at the

 Must be able to provide high level of quality customer service
 Must be able to complete Field Service Reports within a timely manner
 Requires knowledge of equipment manufacturer’s specifications
 Ability to work independently and resourceful with good initiatives
 Must be able to perform repeated bending & lifting of up to 100lbs during certain
