STARTING & STOPPING OF DIESEL GENERATOR SET

1) Put the mode selector switch on manual position.

2) Put the engine control switch in on position.
3) Put the battery charges switch on OFF position.
4) Press the start push button till the speed of diesel engine set in stabilized.

Put the voltage selector switch on GEN position and read the generator voltage in the voltmeter, which
will be approximately 415 volt.
Release the trip key voltmeter at voltage-selection switch on load position.
Now check the voltage appears on the incoming from DG set at LT feeder No. 35/D3EA33 breaker so
DG set will be ready to taken load.
IMPORTANT NOTES
1) Press reset push button on disengage the self if is in engaged position.
2) Circulating cooling water valve (installed in trench breath water tank) must be opened while DG
set on load.
STOPPING OF DG SET
1) Ensure no loads (Generator breaker no.35 is open position) open the breaker of DG set.
2) Keep the stop push button in pressed position till engine stop.
3) Now change the position of various selector switches is as under.
a) Control selector switch on to manual position.
b) Voltage selector switch on GEN to main.
c) Battery charger switches OFF to trickle position.
d) Mode selector switch manual to OFF position.
