down by computer simulation to details
† Need to look at global loads and decide
the governing cases only
† Once the governing conditions are
identified, need to look at installation
capability including fabrication limitations
† Many times, Fabrication and Installation
drives the price to an greater extent.

WELLHEAD PLATFORMS
† Dead Loads including jacket, topsides are minimum
~ 2000 to 4000 Tonnes
† Environmental Loads are high due to number of
conductors ~ 10 to 16.
† Base shear in the order of 2000 Tonnes typically in
the west coast environmental conditions
† Generally governed by foundation design and highly
influenced by foundation soil
† Need to be careful in selecting type of foundation
arrangement due to limitation on installation
capability
