a. identify appropriate meaning of idiomatic expressions;
b. familiarize with commonly used idiomatic expressions; and
c. use idiomatic expressions correctly.

1. The teacher will show pictures of illustrated idiomatic expressions and will
let the students guess its meaning.
2. The teacher will reveal the meaning of each picture after collecting answer
from the students.

What is Idiomatic Expression?
An idiomatic expression is a type of informal language that has a
meaning different from the literal meaning of each word in the expression.
Example:
She was tickled pink by the good news.
I was just pulling your leg.
We’re all in the same boat.
D. Application
(Unjumble the idioms)
Form 5 groups. Unjumble the idiomatic sentences given to each group, then
give its meaning.
