What’s Coming

• A strong upper level storm system will move over the state Tuesday night and
Wednesday morning. Strong lift will be associated with the system.

• The lifting will help bring moisture along the Gulf Coast northward, and this will be used
to produce areas of light rain and light snow. The snow is mainly expected over the
northern two to three rows of counties (Ozark Mountains).

• Snowfall totals across northern Arkansas are expected to range from a half inch to an
inch and a half.

The Mechanics Behind

the Snow

An incoming storm system

(“L”) will borrow moisture
from the Gulf Coast (where
showers/t-storms are
occurring) to bring chances
of light rain/light snow to
Arkansas before dawn
Wednesday. Snow will
mainly occur in the
northern two to three rows
of counties (Ozark
Mountains).
