The 2017 comedy-drama film Bar Boys for me is a more dramatized version of my actual
expectation of law school. The journey of Christian portrayed by Enzo Pineda, Erik portrayed by
Carlo Aquino, and Toran portrayed by Rocco Nacino was a representation of law students in
different circumstances. The first scene was all about their friendship, playing dota, having fun
until they receive letter of admission from law school. The character of Joshua portrayed by kean
cipriano was the only one who failed to be admitted in law school. The scene reflects one of my
obvious expectations in law school which is all about having a new lifestyle that is completely
different from the way I used to spend my life. There are a lot of relevant changes I have made
so far even before the commencement of classes. It involves around my strict schedule that I am
trying my best to fulfil. The film put emphasis on the different circumstantial pressure that may
affect law students. Such as the high expectation of Christian’s father over his performance in
law school, the financial burden of Erik, and the prejudice on Erik’s image as a bad influence.
The pressure I have expected in law school was a collective take away from each of the
character’s challenges. The additional pressure about being in MSU Law School was the fact that
I have to justify my slot as a part of the freshmen, since there are a lot of participants who
wanted to be in the place where I am now. I love carrying this pressure over me, since I always
believe that it will strengthen my cause.

I specifically wanted to be a criminal defence lawyer; from the title itself justifies the level of
stake in every case. I am always expecting that law school will give me the hardest time in terms
of studying law itself. One memorable scene from the film was about Justice Hernandez
explaining about her pro bono work which is all about the farmer against wealthy and influential
land owners. The situation entails that every details and actions that she is taking will determine
the future of the poor farmers and their families. The scene completely highlights the need to
sacrifice in order to succeed or otherwise get lost. Relationship problem faced by Christian with
his girlfriend is one of the most relatable problems that I have already foreseen in law school. I
am in a long term relationship with my girlfriend right now and I am starting to feel that I can no
longer make her happy. Considering the workload that I have to do which is completely contrary
to her time requirement and I know I have to address this problem shortly. The aforementioned
are negative expectations and I want to save the beauty of law school at the end. The last scene
was about them becoming lawyers and Joshua achieved his dream of being an artist. I expected
that MSU Law School will guide me to become a just and competent criminal defence lawyer
and serve my purpose.
