Welcome to quarantine Grizzlies! Are you bored yet?

We know online school is hard, you miss


your friends and the list of things to do seems to be dwindling. Maybe though, this could be a
chance to do all the things you never had time for!

Let's start indoors. It’s a little difficult to keep yourself entertained for so long and in one place,
but it’s possible. Grab some paper and get creative, drawing and painting are a great way to
express not only what you feel but do it in a way that’s you. Art is really time consuming so it’s
perfect for someone with a lot of time on their hands.

If you hate the idea of painting, maybe consider reading. I know a lot of people despise reading,
but doing it recreationally could be something you really enjoy. There are tons of genres for you
to pick out of, there’s at least one that will interest you. While libraries in your neighborhood
might be closed, online books are there for you 24/7. Reading can take you places outside of
Utah and outside of quarantine, so give it a try.

Learning something new is also a great way to spend your time. The internet has so much
knowledge for you to search through, you could learn about things you never knew existed.
Explore the oceans and discover things about space, there’s always something new to learn.

Now cleaning might be a chore, but reorganizing your room and house can be really fun. Take a
look around your room, what do you want to change? Are there things that can be thrown out or
moved? This might help you feel like you're living in a fresh place and make you feel a little less
stuck. Spring cleaning is also a great way for you to feel liberated from all the junk in your life.
Cleaner house, cleaner you.

Some other things for you to do is have a movie marathon, play games with your family, make
some cookies, play a video game, listen to new music and make a few playlists, pick up a new
hobby like sewing or upcycling your clothes to make your closet more personalized.

Exercise is also key to a happy and healthy you. Try some at home workouts or maybe some
yoga to feel more centered. Working out at home is nice because you don’t feel the pressure of
working out in front of people, it’s just you working on you.

When staying indoors is out of the question, there’s more to do outside. Go for a hike, this not
only gets you in our beautiful mountains but is a fun way to workout. Explore the wonders of
Utah. Go bike riding or skateboarding, this is a perfect opportunity for some you time.

Going for a drive outdoors is something that is safe while in quarantine, yet still brings you
outdoors. The canyons are always beautiful to drive through and lucky for us, we’re surrounded
by them.

One of the best things for you to do these next weeks is to work on you. Make some goals for
yourself and start to do some self care. Sometimes school gets in the way of putting ourselves
first and we suffer because of it, we don’t take care of ourselves. So make a few goals to
improve who you are and some things you want to change. Maybe you want to be kinder, fix
your sleep schedule, learn to meditate and become more mindful. Just focus on coming out of
this whole thing a better you, don’t let this virus ruin your life.

As kids, our imagination would let us explore worlds and worlds of things. Now that we’ve grown
up, we’ve lost that ability to look at the world around us in awe. Try to tap into that energy again
and maybe try something a little childish. Fly a kite, gaze at the stars and make shapes in the
clouds. Look at the world around you in wonder and let yourself forget about all the bad things in
life. A lot of things are happening right now that may seem scary because honestly, we don’t
know what’s going to happen next, and we can’t control that. What we can control though is how
we handle it. Stay hopeful towards the future and keep a positive mindset. This is not the end of
the world and it won’t last forever. So keep an open mind and try not to get bored too easily,
there are plenty of things to do! Good luck Grizzlies!
