3. Reflect on the scenarios presented in the game. Was there anything you found particularly
difficult? Anything that surprised you?

This level was geared towards marketing, there was a scenario where a social media influencer desired to
brand the product on her site. The issue I had was picking the optimal answer, I choose that she could keep
her deal a secret from the press and the answer was the opposite. I didn’t understand how that wasn’t an
ethical enough response, then the game continued and there was another question about an advertisement,
but they were to put the “paid content” portion at the bottom of the article. I understand now that the
whole point of marketing especially with a medical product it’s best to be ethically transparent in order for
the consumers to feel comfortable buying from the company.

4. Explain one of the decision-making scenarios you were given in this level and analyze it in terms
of one of this week’s theories.

explain how the scenario illustrates that theory)

The virtue theory came to mind when the first scenario question was asked in this level about making a
charitable donation with every purchase of Ublan. The company would make good with the customers
and community because the charity it would be donating too. In order to fulfill the virtue theory and
flourish the company must do something to challenge other companies to be more ethical and make it
known to the stakeholders and community.

5. How could you use the concepts discussed in this simulation in your job today? Relate these
concepts to the other course materials and to your own experiences.

At the children’s museum that I currently work for; the whole idea of being transparent to the
community when we advertise what we offer is important for the guests and future guests so they see
that we have nothing to hide. The virtue theory helps the museum through the use of community,
without the help of the community and our sponsors, stakeholders, we would not be in business
considering we are a non-profit.
In another scenario, I can relate it back to the use of sponsorship advertisements through social media.
We have currently several social media sites and we have to make sure to be ethically authentic and
responsible with the content we are portraying through the images we post and the words we put along
with and make sure they stand with the mission statement on our website and the one that is posted in
big bold letters the second you walk through the facility doors. It also helps to ensure that our employees
are understanding of the ethical values we have as a business but understand that theirs may differ from
our own, and be alright with that.
