DISTORTION
- is the alteration of the original shape (or other characteristic) of something.
In communications and electronics it means the alteration of the waveform of an
information-bearing signal, such as an audio signal representing sound or a video
signal representing images, in an electronic device or communication channel.

ELONGATION
- is a form of abstract art that often depicts the stretched forms of people or objects in
nature. Among the artists who created elongation art was early 20th-
century artist Amedeo Modigliani, who is renowned for his use of elongation in
portraits as well as more abstract paintings.

CUBISM
- stresses abstract form through the use of a cone, cylinder or sphere at the expense of
other pictorial elements. The use of geometrical shapes is common in Pablo Picazzo
& Paul Cezanne art works.
MANGLING
- is rarely used by artist today. Here, the subject
is either cut, or mutilated.

EXPRESSIONISM
- It is an artistic style in which the artist seeks to depict not objective reality but rather
the subjective emotions and responses that objects and events arouse within a person.
The artist accomplishes this aim through distortion, exaggeration, primitivism, and
fantasy and through the vivid, jarring, violent, or dynamic application of formal
elements.
