CREATION INTRUCTIONS
1. Click on a Virtual Host and Create a resource pool.

2. Type Guardium Appliances and click on OK.


3. Create a new virtual machine. Select Guardium Appliances resource pool .

4. Select Custom and click on Next.


5. Enter Guardium-collect01 at Name and click on Next.

6. Select a destination storage for the virtual machine files and click on Next.
7. Select Virtual Machine Version: 8 and click on Next

8. Select Linux - Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (64-bit) and click on Next.
9. Select appropriate total number of cores. Suggested 4 -16 cores (minimum 2) and click on Next.

10. Select appropriate memory. Suggested 16-24 GB. and click on Next
11. Select appropriate Network used, E1000 Adapter and click on Next.

12. Select LSI Logic Parallel SCSI controller and click on Next.
13. Create a new virtual disk.

14. Select appropriate hard disk size 300-600GB (Minimum 60), thin provision and click on Next.
15. Select Virtual Device Node.

16. Settings for the new virtual machine and click on Finish.
17. Select Guardium-collector01 virtual machine and click on Edit virtual machine settings.

18. Select CD/DVD, Connect at power on and ISO file will be using.
19. Select Options, Boot Options, and click on The next time the virtual machine boots, force entry into the BIOS setup
screen and click on OK button.

20. Right click on Guardium-collector01 and select Open Console. Click green arrow to power on VM.
21. Select Boot and move CD-ROM Drive to top in BIOS screen. Click on Exit and Save and Exit.

22. Select Standard Installation and hit Enter. It takes about 12 minutes to complete.
23. Enter Web UI admin password. (You will not see what you typed.)

24. Enter Web UI accessmgr password. (You will not see what you typed.)
25. Select Collector and hit Enter. It will reboot the virtual machine.

26. Type Q and hit Enter to quit reading License Agreement.


27. Type YES to agree to the above license. It will take about 15 minutes setting up database.

28. Login the console as cli. Enter guardium as password. It will prompt you to change the password.
29. Setup hostname, domain and network settings. Enter restart network to finish.

30. You now can run putty terminal and login as cli to the virtual machine.
ssh cli@guard01.guardium.com

31. You can also login as admin or accessmgr to the Web UI of the virtual machine.
