2. DRILLING ASSURANCES

2.1. SIMOPS
Simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) represent one of the most significant hazards while drilling
this well. To reduce the risks of incidents, all operations performed on the KLD platform will be
governed by the West Java SIMOPS plan. The PHE ONWJ Well site Leader (WSL) has been
designated as the Person in Charge (PIC) and will have the ultimate authority to control
simultaneous operations.
The condition of all existing wells on the KLD platform has to be checked on a daily basis by
the Production Representative onboard the rig. The status of these checks shall be reported
on the PHE ONWJ Daily Drilling Report. The following information is required: tubing, casing
annuli pressures, status of the well (shut/flow).
The KLD platform has no producing wells and active pipeline. but only during GREEN SIMOPS
activities. Specific precautions to be taken during the KLD-1 drilling program are documented
in the SIMOPS Meeting Notes.

2.2. PLATFORM HANDOVER

PHE ONWJ Operations Policy, reference 2.6.
A 'well handover' system formalizing the transfer of responsibility for the control of
a well and documenting well conditions shall be in place.

An inspection of the KLD platform will be conducted by Drilling and Production Team.
Outstanding issues from this inspection are documented in the well handover checklist. The
KLD production Superintendent shall ensure that the outstanding items are complete before rig
arrives at the soft pin location. Upon rig arrival, both parties shall sign a platform handover form
indicating the condition of the wells/jacket as a formal handover from Production Team to
Drilling Team.

Before releasing the rig from the KLD platform, the Drilling WSL and the production
representative onboard the rig shall document the final condition of the wells in the platform
handover form. The KLD production superintendent/offshore installation manager shall inspect
the wells and jacket (if required) and upon his satisfaction both parties shall sign the handover
form as a formal handover from Drilling Team to Production Team.

2.3. WATER DEPTH AND SEABED CONDITION

PHE ONWJ Operations Policy, reference 2.6.
Attempts shall be made to clear the seabed or well site location of all debris prior to
leaving the location. Any debris left at site shall be documented.

2.4. SHALLOW HAZARD ASSESSMENT

Not Applicable

2.5. MOVE-IN AND RIG-UP

A pre-move meeting and through review of the Navigation and Rig Positioning Procedure shall
be conducted on-board the rig prior to the rig arriving at the soft pin location. Key points to
emphasize are:
2.5.1 The rig can only move to the soft pin location and run/recover anchors at night if all
survey equipment is 100% operational, and weather conditions are suitable.
2.5.2 Final move on from soft pin location can only be done at night if all involved parties
(PHE ONWJ & ENSCO) agree to proceed, the positioning equipment on the rig and
on all nominated vessels is 100% operational, weather conditions are less than those
stated in the Ensco Rig Move Procedures, Sufficient lightings are provided during

KLD-1 Drilling Procedure Page 14 of 22 Revision Aug, 2020

move alongside the platform, approval from PHE ONWJ Tier 1 (Senior Manager or
alternate) is granted, Sufficient rest time for AHV Masters prior to move to final
alongside. After 8 hours of continuous work on the bridge, a minimum of uninterrupted
4 hours rest is required. Otherwise, a double-Master scheme shall be considered.
2.5.3 Move on shall be with anchors. A second tug will be available to provide additional
assistance if required.
2.5.4 Move on should not be undertaken if there are strong winds or currents that could push
the rig onto the platform if anchor(s) slip or fail.
Upon final positioning the following data shall be recorded in the daily drilling and IADC reports:
 TM and Geographical coordinates (stating geodetic datum)
 Rig Heading
 Water Depth
 RKB-MSL
 RKB-Mud line
 Rig leg penetrations
 Fore/Aft and Port/Stbd skid distances
 Rig acceptance date and time

2.6. PRE-SPUD and RIG ACCEPTANCE

The following minimum acceptance checks shall be completed to the satisfaction of PHE’s WSL
prior to accepting the drilling rig on operating rate:
 Review of documentation, inspection records, and certification of all critical rig components.
 Visual inspection and function test of all critical rig systems, particularly the circulating
system, firefighting equipment and BOP accumulator.
 Pre spud Rig Inspection Checklist properly filled out.
 An emergency evacuation and medical drill will be held prior to spudding the well. The
purpose of this drill is to check all emergency contact numbers and response time.
 A pre spud meeting will be conducted with all key supervisors.
 330 bbls of 11.0 ppg kill weight mud will be prepared, tested and ready for use.
 13-5/8” BOP stack (on test stump) and choke and kill manifold successfully tested to
250/3000 psi for 5/10 minutes with chart recording.
Note: The 13-5/8” BOP stack is nippled-up on the wellhead, test to 1500 psi
 All high pressure mud lines from mud pumps to the Top Drive tested to 250/3000 psi.
Note: mud lines will be tested from the rig floor to the last 4’’ valve on the mud pump
(6-1/2’’ liners only good for 3980 psi).
 Remote ESD controls shall be placed on the rig floor and the rig main deck. These controls
shall be function tested and crews shall be shown how to operate.
