I’m telling you about a foreign country that I would like to know more about. That is China.
Actually, I haven’t been there before but recently China has become the second biggest country
in the world with the highest population but it’s definitely worth a visit. Their main industries
are production and finance. Most of people know that China’s economics has been developing
and expanding every year but it is still a traditional country with an ancient history of which
Chinese people are rightly proud. I watched a lot of documentaries about history of this country
to know more about the events which have shaped their long history. And I particularly like the
Three Kingdom Dynasty with many decisive battles which are not only entertaining but also
educational. I have to say that they have rich cultural identity which is really unique. If I have
more time, I’m planning go to China to experience how local people live and visit historical
relics to know more about this country in person. I believe that it will be a unique experience.
Like a saying goes that “travel broadens the mind”.

I’m telling you about a duck race that I won a prize. Looking back, I remember I was really
fascinated in that race when I was a little girl as it was held annually in a local fair in my home
city. One day, surprise … surprise …I was walking along the river, when I saw a poster beside it,
then I immediately registered to take part in. It was very easy to join by buying a yellow duck in
the market then I needed to write my name on the duck. The number of the races depended on
the number of ducks taking part. All the ducks would be launched into the river at the back of
the cinema, then they would float along the river for 500 meters, as far as the railway bridge. A
swimmer in my local area started the races. Luckily, the weather was really nice with a lot of
sunny spells. It was neither too hot nor too cold. A good beginning made a good ending. Finally,
after 30 minutes, my duck was the first in the finishing line and of course I won the prize for a
free ticket for the concert the following night. It wasn’t too much but it was the most
memorable and happiest moment I have ever had in my lifetime.

Part 2: Talk about a time when you took a risk

This is a tough topic to talk about but it is ok to share with you about the time when I took a
risk. Thinking back I remember, 2 years ago I was working in an office in Bankok, Thailand, I
heard the news on TV. It had been pouring with rain for several days and I could see the river
near my office was swollen. It appeared a real danger that the river would overflow. I also just
lived near the office so I was in danger at work and at home. I got home immediately to pack
my things but then I decided not to leave my home because I was afraid of looters breaking into
my home and stealing things, but the truth was that I sort of felt that I wanted to be in the
middle of things to be involved in what was happening. I stayed up all night watching the TV
bulletins. I could sit in my living room and watch the danger increase as the minutes passed but
I still didn’t move. The house was flooded and water was almost up to my knee and the water
was rising quickly now. I had thought it was too late to leave. Luckily, I managed to get through
the water safely and arrived safely at my friend’s house which was 2 km away. My house was
badly damaged and under the water. I still hope that lightning will never strike the same place
twice.

A thing I like to do with a group? Well, If I had to talk about this topic, I’ll tell you about
travelling with a big group of friends which is one of my favourite thing to do in my spare time.
The actual fact is that I’m an extrovert, so I love to go travelling with a group of people as each
person has their own characteristics so I can know more about different kinds of life. I have a
group of friends. We struck up the relationship at university and most of us are really into
travelling and we usually see eye-to-eye on most of things, like going sight-seeing or sunbathing
but we also don’t like sign up for a guided tour as we prefer to make our own itineraries to go
to somewhere of the beaten track to have a good time. We really enjoy each other’s company
although we are still different in some ways such as some who can be painfully shy while others
can be sociable. My social life is quite good although I have had many things to do on my hands
recently, I still spare a couple of months each year travelling with the group of my friends. We
always capture the precious moment everywhere we have been. We will be good friends
forever.

I' m going to tell you about an indoor game that I used to play when I was a little girl. It's
"playing pretend" which has been a popular game for both boys and girls, a great combination of
imagination and creativity. Thinking back I remember when I was very young I was left at home
alone all day long as my parents went out to do things, but unlike most of my fellows who was
obsessed with many kinds of TV programmes, I preferred to play pretend as I could image what
a decent life could have been like. I used to play with some of my favourite dolls rather than with
my brother since I didn't get on well with him as we had different tastes. While I was playing,
each doll was usually assigned a specific role like being my daughter or my friend or my patient.
It was a good time to think outside the box or stimulate my mental development which I
achieved during the play time. I haven't played this game for so long but after being a mother, I
more frequently play it with my daughter. I promise myself that I won't let her play alone.

Part 2: A person who is full of energy

I’m telling you about my sister-in law who is the most energetic person that I have ever known.
I first got to know her when she was introduced to my parents by my brother. Soon, we got on
very well like a house on fire. She is a cardiac surgeon who works for one of the biggest
hospitals in my country. Her work is incredibly hard and tiring and I have to say that she often
works with full of energy as there are many major and minor operations that she has to stand
up as well as concentrate all the time, sometimes up to a few hours like the heart transplant.
From time to time, she gets up in the middle of the night if one of her patients gets worse. She
works during regular hours and also she has her own private clinic now so she also works at
night. To be where she is now, of course she had to spend years and years studying and now
she is still keeping up to date her knowledge. She in her mid-forties, but she is as fit as a fiddle
as she is also a health-conscious person. She does exercises every weekend with me in the gym.
We love talking about our work and domestic life as we are quite intimate and intense. I still
wish I could be like her if I am in her age.

I'm talking about New Delhi, which is the capital of India where I have been. When I was there, this
metropolis was being affected seriously by the sheer volume of pollutants - carbon dioxide mainly
emitted by countless vehicles and factories in the city town. Consequently, city residents were facing
oppressive haze but most of people might know the air quality in this place was so bad that long-term
exposure to it could cause many kinds of health problems like lung cancer and respiratory diseases
leading to the death of thousands of people every year. More terribly, this number had grown into flood
during coronavirus pandemic that had started appearing in February 2020, as there was high death toll
from people with pre-existing conditions like respiratory disease who had been infected then lost their
lives. In other words, this city is still termed as the greatest environmental risk to health in the world but
they do not share any pollution data in the fully open and transparent manner. I don't mean to add fuel
into fire but this is highly likely to be insurmountable when we have no idea how big the problem is.

Part 2: Describe a photo that u like
I’m telling you about a photo that I really like. It’s the photo I took when I was on my holiday in
Australia. One day, I went to one of the natural beauty called Great Ocean Road in Melbourne
to experience picturesque views with my brother. On the journey, we stopped at the bottom of
a hill then I went up to the cliff top, surprise…. Surprise … I was caught immediately by the
spectacular views of beautiful landscape all around me. I have been passionate about taking
photos to capture the most precious moment in my life so I turned on the button and took the
picture that could express my feeling which struck me at that time. It was taken in the twilight
so the view was very expansive and grand. I could be seeing the heavenly light and subtle color.
There is no one in my photo, just only Mother Nature. In the middle of the picture, it is a coast
which is called Great Ocean Road which was built by soldiers after the second world war. On
the left of the picture, there is a thick forest. I went there in the autumn when the foliage of
trees had turned red and yellow so I could have a very colorful picture. On the right of the
photo, there is a tranquil beach that can give viewers the peace of mind. So it is definitely my
favourite photo ever.

This is an interesting topic to talk about. I will tell you about an event that had music that I
didn’t like. I still remember, 2 years ago, I went to a wedding party of my cousin. I and my
mother arrived early to hope to enjoy the entire atmosphere. After half an hour, when most of
guests were sitting in the hall, one of guests started a live performance. It was also my
favourite song which I didn’t know what it was called but I recognized the tune. It’s a very
catchy song. But then, I was really disappointed as the singer’s voice was so monotonous that
almost sent me to sleep. Although it was a song with a very strong beat, through his voice the
lyrics of the song was incomprehensible so I couldn’t understand what it was about. Another
problem was that he didn’t sing the same notes as we were so he was completely out of tune or
he was a kind of tone deaf. People couldn’t run away or leave him to face the music because
this could have upset the bride and the groom. I don’t know why he could have enough gut to
be on the stage at that moment as he didn’t have a good ear for music when he couldn’t sing a
tune. Anyway, it is a fun memory that I have ever have.
