Placement Rules for Summer Placements(T&HM) for the Academic Year 2020-2021

All regular students admitted to the 2020-2022 batch graduating in 2022 are eligible for Summer
Placements.

I. GUIDING PRINCIPLES FOR THE STUDENT PLACEMENT COMMITTEE

a. Placement Committee actions will be guided first by the interest of the institute, and
thereafter by the collective interests of the students.
b. He/ She will abide by the directions given by the Placement Chair, in letter and in spirit.
c. The Placement Committee member should inform the Placement Team in case he/she is
not available due to any medical emergencies/prolonged power cut/ technical issues, for
a duration exceeding 2 days, via email at the earliest. (This clause holds when operating
in virtual mode).
d. The Placement Committee Committee member should inform the placement committee
in case he/ she plans to travel out of the campus for a duration exceeding 2 days, via
email. (This clause holds when students are in campus).
e. He/ She should not disclose any information related to placement process without
consent of Placement committee further subjected to approval of the Placement Chair.

II. CODE OF CONDUCT

3-D Policy: A maximum of 3 defaults are allowed in a given academic year for each student.
The students would be given adequate warnings for missing deadlines, batch
meets, guest lectures, improper grooming, placement drives, or any non
adherence to rules of the placement committee. The accumulation of the 4th
default would lead to the debarment of that particular student from all the
placement related activities.

a. Non-conformity to deadlines and instructions communicated via mail (in all


electronic forms), will fall under 3-D policy and escalate to exclusion from
the entire placement process.
b. Students are strictly prohibited to personally contact recruiters, post
company’s confirmation of participation in the recruitment process and any
communication between them should only happen through placement
committee.
c. [i] No student is allowed to leave the campus during the placement
process, if he/she is part of the process. (This clause holds when students
reach campus).
[ii] No student is allowed to be unavailable during the placement process,
if he/she is a part of the process. (This clause holds when virtual mode is
used).
d. The students, being a direct stakeholder in the placement process, are
expected to participate in batch meetings convened by Placement Chair or
the Placement Committee. In case of reporting late or absenteeism without
prior formal information, will attract 1 D as per the 3 D policy.
e. All the batch meets would be notified via mail. If a student for any reason is
unable to attend a batch meet, he/ she should communicate the same
through a formal mail, with proper reason and evidence to the placement
committee, at least 2 hours before the start of batch meet, although
acceptance or denial to such information and requests is at the discretion of
the Placement Committee.
f. The students, being a direct stakeholder in the placement process, are
expected to mandatorily participate in pre-placement talks/ presentations
by the corporate; failing to do so would lead to penalty of 2 D as per the 3 D
policy mentioned earlier. No further justification would be entertained on
any grounds.
g. Students should be well groomed as per the standards(mentioned in point
i) and should be strictly in formal attire during the selection process. Non
adherence to it will lead to a penalty of 2D.
h. While operating in the virtual mode, students are expected to attend the
process over laptop only and care must be taken of the surroundings,
lighting, audio, video and camera positioning. Non adherence would attract
1D, at the discretion of the Placement Committee.
i. Male students: Only 3 styles are permissible for facial hairs:
1. French 2. Only Moustache 3. Clean Shaved
Female Students: Closed toe formal shoes, with heel height not exceeding
2.5 inches are to be worn.
III. SUMMER PLACEMENTS GUIDELINES

a. If the pool size for any particular company’s placement process falls below a certain
specific limit, the Placement Chair and the Placement Committee
