 SUMMARY

Globalization helps in boosting Technology that enables us to enhance our communication

capabilities. Digital Based-Communication is usually happening especially that we are in
quarantine, where we are unable to use our natural media more genuinely. While with the help
of Technological media like laptops, Smart Phones, and computer, we can attend important
meetings, class lectures, and have a conversation with our loved ones. Yes, we can still be able
to feel our loved ones using these devices. For instance, texting or calling them but, the more
complete the medium, the richer it is, like Video-call. Still, it is not as genuine as face-to-face
conversations.

There are Advantages and Disadvantages of Using Technology:

The advantages of using Technology are its reliability: anywhere, any time, you can grab your
pocket technologies in your bag (Cellphones). It is less hassle: where you can store your
documents and files instead of printing them. Accessibility: where we are in the age of
Technological Advancement where everything is a lot easier with the help of these devices. We
can immediately search for what we need using browsers like Google and Firefox. Lastly, it's
available for everyone. Personally, as time passes by, having a mobile phone is a must. Using
these devices are now being part of our everyday life because we rely on these gadgets to use it
in school, where we talk about projects and events which are up coming, not just in school but in
everything, as well as, in business, work, and personal use. For example, using these devices for
entertainment by going to social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. Social Media is
where interactions among people, this is where they create, share, and exchange information in
online communities and networks. Social Media is filled with multimedia, a combination of text,
images, audio, video, and animation that makes social media fascinating.

The Disadvantage of using Technology, is even though it's available for everyone, not all of us can
buy and purchase these devices. Some Applications require these standard specifications,
wherein the greater specification, the more expensive it is. Also, not everyone has access to
Technology, and some don't know how to use this. These are the ones who are not literate in
using media. While the Information Haves has more advantages than the Information Have nots.
Information Haves are those who have access and mastery of the devices or the media that they
are using. You are at a disadvantage if you don't have mastery or skills on using the devices,
where access alone is challenging because it blocks you to gain mastery on these devices. In
short, No Access, no mastery. Lastly, not anyone has access and can't afford Internet Connection
due to its expensiveness that the Higher Band Width the Higher the Price, where today internet
connectivity is important because, for an instance, you can't access many applications or
software, including the use of MS Teams and Google Classroom, and Social Media Platforms that
requires Internet Connection or Data Connection. Also, add the effects of poor internet
connection here in the Philippines.
