3. Safety Precautions
When operating this equipment, observe the precautions described below to ensure safety of the operator
and service personnel.
3. To prevent electric shock, be sure to turn OFF the equipment and facility
power supply and wait for at least one minute before touching internal
parts of the system to replace parts, or connect measuring instruments.
Turn OFF the power supply of the facility and also open the front door
when operating the internal circuit breaker.
Be particularly careful with the inverter unit of the control cabinet
because it has charged parts in it. Be sure to check the residual voltage
(relative to ground) of the charged parts with a tester. Also, never
change the measuring points or insert/extract connectors while the
power is ON.

When the power was ON, the loss of the filament heating data stored in each X-ray tube and
focus was detected. These errors indicate that the adjusted data was lost. A lack of correct
signals transmitted to the power section may also cause the errors in the power section
system at the same time. In this case, the filament heating data must be initialized and the
tube current re-adjusted. If the error remains even after re-adjustment, replace PWB1 due to
its hardware failure.
(1) Error 42: ISP failures are detected during the radiography preparation sequence.
The READY signal from the ISP was detected although no Ready signal was input from the
X-ray exposure handswitch or X-ray exposure switch. Check the ISP. If the error remains,
replace PWB1.
Thermal switch operation of TUBE1 and TUBE2 was simultaneously detected. Check the
thermal switch circuit on the PWB3 PWB. If the error remains, replace the PWB3 PWB.
During the self-check when the power was ON, input of the radiographic Ready signal or the
fluoroscopic F-ON signal was detected. Check for failures in the radiographic switch or the
fluoroscopic switch (including the fluoroscopic foot switch), and in the signals from the X-ray
table.
(4) Error 45: Self-check error of the A/D, D/A circuit when the power is turned ON
During the self-check of the A/D, D/A circuit when the power was turned ON, failures in the
A/D, D/A circuit were detected. Check the A/D, D/A circuit. If the error remains, replace
PWB1.
(5) Error 46: Self-check error of the 600 mAs Back up circuit when the power is ON
During the self-check of the radiographic 600 mAs Back up circuit when the power was ON,
failures in the radiographic 600 mAs Back up circuit were detected. Check the radiographic
600 mAs Back up circuit. If the error remains, replace PWB1.
(6) Error 47: Self-check error of the fluoroscopic 10 mA Back up circuit when the power is ON
During the self-check of the fluoroscopic 10 mA Back up circuit when the power was turned
ON, failure in the fluoroscopic 10 mA Back up circuit was detected. Check the fluoroscopic
10 mA Back up circuit. If the error remains, replace PWB1.

(1) The cable between PWB1 and PWB2 is not connected, or the contacts are poor.
This may be caused by AC noise contamination in the detected signals, or a defective detector or
AEC circuit. Perform an operation check of the integrated waveform output pin (pin 1 of IC10A) of
the PWB1.
When the detected signals are contaminated by AC noise, the integrated waveform will
change from a straight line to a wavy line, and the reproducibility of the X-ray exposure time
will be lowered. As a countermeasure, disconnect the power cable from the detector signal
cable. Also, check the electrical insulation of the detector.
The tube voltage signal and the tube current signal (analog signal) related to X-ray generation are
transmitted from PWB1 to the inverter unit of the POWER section.
Table 5-1 shows the signal descriptions and the pin arrangement between PWB1 and the inverter
unit.
The control signal of the tube voltage and the tube current from PWB1, and the control signal of
the tube voltage and the tube current from the inverter unit of the POWER section can be checked
on PWB1.
If the tube voltage and the tube current are not output as preset, check the respective test pins
below.
TP17: Large focus preset filament heating current signal (LARGE), setting 1 A = 1 VDC
TP18: Small focus preset filament heating current signal (SMALL), setting 1 A = 1 VDC
TP26: Detected tube voltage signal (ACT-KV), detection 150 kV = 7.5 VDC
TP19: Radiographic detected tube current signal (R-MA), detection 100 mA = 2 VDC

the relative detected tube voltage, the A/D converter on PWB1 may be defective.
The detected signals (analog signals) of the tube current can be checked at the timings

(1) Interfaces
The POWER section has two kinds of interfaces; one for high-voltage control and one for
filament control, each controlling the high voltage and the filament currents independently.
This circuit receives 100 VAC and supplies power to each subsection as a control power
supply and driving power supply, as well as supplies power to the filament circuit, to the
fan, and to the magnetic contactor for preventing rush current.
When the mains power supply is stopped, it promptly discharges the accumulated power.
(7) HV inverter
This circuit transmits control signals to the high-voltage circuit using the interface signals
and the detection signals from the tank section.
Rectifies the output of the high-voltage transformer as well as increases its voltage.
Divides the high-voltage output and transmits to the detection voltage control circuit.
Detects the output current and transmits the detected signals to the control circuit.
