Objective: The key Points To this lab were
• To see the behaviors of frequency modulation in LabVIEW
• To see the carrier signal and frequency modulating graphical representation.

Introduction:
Frequency modulation (FM) is a technique used to encode data on an alternating digital or analog
signal. The method includes varying the frequency of the carrier wave on which useful information is
imposed or impressed upon. The signal on which data is imposed is known as the carrier signal and
the resulting signal with variable frequency is called a frequency modulated signal.
Uses:
Frequency modulation is widely used for radio transmission due to the fact that the signal-to-noise
ratio (SNR) is large in this method of modulation and hence radio frequency interference is
minimized. FM signals are used in technology such as radars, telemeters, EEG, radio broadcasting,
satellite communication and magnetic tape-recording systems. The frequencies vary by up to 5 kHz in
the case of wireless two-way communication and they vary up to several MHz in the case of wireless
broadcasting.

IN-LAB TASK:
Procedure:
The procedure of this lab is written as follow:
1) Place three sine signals having frequency , phase , modulation.

2) Now use MATHSCRIPT note to combine all signals with coding .the code is shown is
in the math script note.

3) See the output in one graph , in graph you see three different signal having different
frequencies.

Conclusion:
The other advantage of FM is its resilience to noise and interference. It is for this reason that FM is
used for high quality broadcast transmissions. Easy to apply modulation at a low power stage of the
transmitter: Another advantage of frequency modulation is associated with the transmitters
