III. PROCEDURE

TEACHER’S ACTIVITY STUDENT’S ACTIVITY

1.PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES
A. PRAYER “Let us bow our head and feel the presence
“May I call Lopez to lead to our prayer” of God. Our heavenly father…Amen”

B. GREETINGS “Good morning Ma’am Yulas, good morning

“Good morning class” classmate”

“Before you take your seats, kindly pick

up the peace of trash and put it into the (the students will obey)
trashcan and aligned your chairs
properly.”
"and I will check also your ears, nails if
its long and your uniform also"

C. CHECKING OF ATTENDANCE
Calling their name individually. Say present!

D. REVIEW
“So, class? What was our topic last “Our topic last time was aquatic plant”
time?
“Ma’am aquatic plant are plants that grow on
“That’s right! So, what is aquatic plant? water”
Yes Charles?”
Excellent!
Okay, Let’s move on now to our next
topic.
E. UNBLOKING
“Before we proceed, I have here 3 words
which is terrestrial, photosynthesis, and
pollination anyone who can give the
meaning of our 3 examples vocabulary
words for today?"
(teacher will post the words at board)

Terrestrial plant
"Are plants that grows on land"
Photosynthesis
Photosynthesis is a process of making
food
Pollination
Pollination is the transfer of pollen from a
male part of a plant to a female part of a
plant,

2. MOTIVATION:
"Okay now let's have a puzzle game, I
have here 3 puzzle pictures and you will
arrange it in order to know what was in
the pictures" Yes Ma’am!
"You will do it in 5 minutes!"
Get it guys?

Plants
Soil

No, ma'am

Banana tree, onion, grass, mango tree etc.

1. What do you observe on the
picture?
Okay very good!
" do you know children that those plants
in this place are terrestrial plant?
"Okay now Let’s identify what is
terrestrial plants! "
4. DISCUSSION
Terrestrial plants are plants that grow
on land. Some of these plants evolved
from aquatic environment and developed
some structures or parts to survive the
terrestrial environment.
"Okay who give me some examples of
terrestrial plants?"
"very good!"

"process of making food"

The parts of terrestrial plants can be

divided into the root system and the
shoot system. The root system consists
of roots that obtain nutrients from the soil
and store food. On the other hand, the
shoot system is made up of stems and
leaves that carry substances up and
down the plant.
The roots are the structures found
beneath the soil. They are responsible
for anchoring the plants to a substrate,
absorbing water, dissolving minerals,
and storing food.
The Shoot System
The shoots, also known as aerial plant
structures are found above the soil.
They are divided into vegetative parts
(stems and leaves) and reproductive
parts (fruits and flowers).
Vegetative parts
The leaves are parts of plants where
food is made through photosynthesis.
"Did you what is photosynthesis?"

Roots
Flowers
The Stem is responsible for support and Stem
erection of leaves so they can be Fruit
positioned properly to capture light Leaves
energy. They are also responsible for the
transport of essential substances
between the roots and other parts of the
shoots.
Reproductive Parts Roots, stem, flowers, leaves, and fruits
The flowers serve as the reproductive
organs of flowering plants by sexual
reproduction. They are plant structures It holds the plant from the soil.
where pollination takes place. The male
reproductive part of a flower is called It makes the food for the plant.
stamen while the female reproductive
part is called pistil. It helps the plant to make seeds.

It holds the seed of the plant.

When the ovary within the pistil matures,

it becomes a fruit which contains one or
more seeds that can be dispersed by
different pollinating agents.

Example
All kinds of trees are considered as
terrestrial plants. They are also made up
of root and shoot systems. They are
important to animals because they
provide habitat, food, and oxygen.

5. ACTIVITY
INSTRUCTION:
Put a level of the missing parts on a box.

6. APPLICATION
1. Why does the plants are important to
our lives?
7. GENERALIZATION
 What are the parts of the
plants?
Okay very good
● So, what is the function of the
roots?
● For the leaves?

● How about the flower?

●What is the function of the

fruits
