You are going to see images of five cities and their landmarks. Write a
paragraph describing each city and country it belongs and the landmark shown.
Use the vocabulary from the box for the descriptions. The first one is done for
you as an example. / A continuación verá imágenes de cinco ciudades y sus

New York is a big city in the


United States (North
America). It takes thousand of
visitors every year. The city
has a population of around 8
million people. There is a lot
to see and do in New York.
You can visit the Central Park,
the Metropolian museum and
Time’s Square. In the picture
you can see the Statue of
Liberty, a monumet built
between 1875 and 1986. It is
93 meters tall. The statue is
New York (USA) – The Statue of Liberty
located on Liberty Island in
the Hudson River.
St peter square, is a large
square located directly in front of
st. peter Basilica in the vatican
city, the papal envacle inside
Rome, directly west of the
neigbourhood or rione of borgo.
At the centre of the square is an

The sydney opera house: is a
multi –venue performing arts
centre in sydney, Australia,

buildings.

jorm Utzon, the building was
formally opened on 20 october
1973 after a gestatión beginning
with Utzon`s 1957 selection as
winner of an international design
competition.

residence until 1633.
From the 15th century the
castle`s residential role
declined, and by the 17th
century it was principally used
as military barracks with a
large garrison.
Its importance as a partof
Scotland`s national heritage
was recognised increasingly
from the arly 19th century
onwards, and various
restoration programmes have
been carried out over the past
century and a half.
As one of the most important
strongholds in the kingdom of
scotland, Edinburgh Castle
was involved in many
historical conflicts from the
wars of scottish Independence
in the 14th century to the
Jacobite Rising of 1745.
Burkj kalifa: known as burkj
dubai before its inaguration, is
a megatall skyscraper in
Dubai United Arab Emirates is
the talles structure in the
world, standing at 829,8 m.
construction of the Burkj
kalifa began in 2014 with the
exterior completed in 2009.
The primary structure is
reinforced concrete.
The building was openened in
2010 as part of a new
Dubai (United Arab Emirates) – The Burj development called Down
Khalifa town Dubai. It is designed to
be the centerpiece of large
scale, mixed-use
development.
The decisión to build the
building is reportedly based
on the goverment`s decisión
to diversify from an oil-based
economy, and for Dubai to
gain international recognition.
The building was named in
honor othr ruler of Abu Dhabi
and president of the United
Arab Emirates.
Khalifa bin zayed Al Nahyan;
Abu Dhabi and the UAE
goverment lent Dubai money
to `pay its debts.
The buiding broke numerous
height records.
