A Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Health 7

Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to do the following:

a. Identify the signs and symptoms of Bulimia, Anorexia Nervosa, and Binge
eating.
b. Differentiate Bulimia, Anorexia Nervosa, and Binge eating.
c. Show interest in learning the different eating disorders.

II. Subject Matter/Content


a. Topic: Eating Disorders
b. Materials: Pictures and Visual aid
c. References: Physical Education and Health 7 Teacher’s Guide p.345-349

III. Procedure:

Motivation:
The teacher will show some pictures related to eating disorders.
She will let the students observe and analyze the pictures on the board.
After analyzing and observing, the learners will tell their observations to
the class.

A. Activating Prior Knowledge


After the activity, the teacher will ask the students: Base on your
observations, what do you think these pictures are all about? How are
these pictures related to our lesson? And what do you think is our
lesson for this day?
The teacher will now relate the activity to the lesson of the day.

B. Acquiring New Knowledge


The teacher will explain nutritional disorders and the different
eating disorders. She will also discuss on how to prevent these
disorders. In this manner, the learners will get new knowledge from
the lesson presented.
C. Application
Activity #1
The teacher will ask some volunteers to participate in the activity.
The students who volunteered will be given a flash card with a
statement written on it. The statements written are preventions on the
different eating disorders discussed during the lesson. The learners
should identify on which eating disorder does their prevention flash
card belong to (Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia, Binge eating).

D. Assessment
After categorizing the preventions, the teacher will check or verify if
their categorization is correct.

IV. Evaluation
Activity #2: Quiz
In a ¼ sheet of paper, differentiate Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia, and
Binge eating.

V. Assignment
In your activity notebook, answer p. ___
“Check your Eating Behavior”
