DETAILED LESSON PLAN

IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION (GRADE 7)

I. LESSON OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson student should be able to;

a. To define what is Philippine Folk Dance


b. To Identify the different basic step use in Folk Dance specially in feet and
arms position.
c. Students execute the fundamental positions of feet and arms in folk dance.

CONTENT STANDARDS: The learners demonstrate understanding of guidelines and


principles in exercise program design to achieve personal fitness.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: The learner modifies the individualized exercise


program to achieve personal fitness

LEARNING COMPETENCY: describes the nature and background of the dance (PE7RD-
IVc1) and executes the skills involved in the dance (PE7RD-IVdh-4)

Claas, what is Folk Dance First?

Ma’am it says that, Folk dance refers


to the dances created,
performed collectively by the
ordinary people.

The term usually includes so called


“Ethnic Dance” such as those of the
cultural community in the cordillera,
in Mindoro, Palawan, Sulu and
Mindanao, and the rural or lowland.
It also called Christian dances among
the groups like the Ilokano,
Pangasinan, Tagalog, Pampanga,
Bicol Cebuano, Ilonggo and Waray.

Yes, that is correct.

They are dances performed at social functions by


people with little or no professional training,
often to traditional music or music based on
traditional music. They are not also designed for
public performance or the stage, although
traditional folkdances may be later arranged and
set for stage performances.

So based on the nature and background of Folk

Now we proceed first in Feet Position


from 1st to 5th and followed by the
arms position.

Here are the 5 fundamentals
Position of Feet. Yes, ma’am.

1st Position- Heels together, toes

fundamental position of our arm and feet, we During our pre- activity we encounter
can perform effectively the folkdance. Class, difficulties to execute the dances step
remember that Folk dance is a part of our because we don’t know the basic
culture and tradition so we need to preserve position of our arms and feet. But
and care off this kind of tradition. after our discussion we can
understand how it could be. It easy to
follow the steps on the dance.
