V. ENVIRONMENTAL INDICES
1. Water Supply (Table 14)
● Level I (Point Source) - protected well or developed spring with an outlet but
without a distribution system. Normally serves around 15 - 25 households
and its outreach must not be more than 250 meters from the farthest user.
The yield of discharge is from 40 to 140 liters per minute
● Level II Communal Faucet System or Stand post) - composed of a source
reservoir, piped distribution network and communal faucet, located at not
more than 25 meters from the farthest house. Deliver 40 - 80 liters of water
per capita per day to an average of 100 households, with one faucet per 4 -6
households.
● Level III (Waterwork system or Individual Household Connection) - with
source, reservoir, piped distributor network and household taps.

2. Excreta Disposal (Table 15) what type of diseases


● Level I - non water carriage toilet facility, no water is needed to wash the
waste material into the receiving space
● Level II - has water carriage with water sealed or flush type, that is
connected to septic tank disposal facility

● Burying - garbage deposited in pits covered with soil
● Dumping - disposing garbage in low area then covered with sand / soil
● Waste Segregation - separating biodegradable (garbage) from
non-biodegradable (rubbish) waste to proper disposal
● Refuse - all solid waste product - garbage, rubbish, ashes, soil, manure, dead
animals, street sweeping and industrial waste
● Garbage - all kinds of leftover (from animals, fish, fruits & vegetables) which
usually produce foul odor and attract flies and rodents.
● Rubbish / Trash - refers to waste materials like broken glass, empty bottles,
discarded papers, plastic and the like

of acceptors

● For analysis: include the effect of type of infant feeding to susceptibility to
infections / diseases
5. Immunization Status (Table 21)
● For analysis: to include the number of children fully immunized. Give the
reasons why target population was not given immunization or fully
immunized
6. Health Seeking Behavior (Table 22)
● For analysis: awareness of the medical services of the health center can
encourage residents to patronize said health facility. Include financial
capability of families to seek medical treatment at institutions other than the
health center.
