Chapter 1: First Shibuya High School

Today is Guren’s first day at the First Shibuya High School. Both his subordinates, Shigure and Sayuri, will
come too. Together, they and the other first-year students will come to this school. First Shibuya High
School is among the top 10 schools in the world that is super famous for educating future vampire slayers.
It is also famous for being monitered by the Hiragi House.
“Geez, I don’t like this.” Guren murmured.
“Come on, Guren-sama, this will be an enjoyable experience.” Sayuri said.
Guren doubted that. He was sure that this would be an “unforgettable” experience.
“Anyways, Guren-sama, you will be studying here for the next 3 years, so it’s no use complaining.”
Shigure said, smiling.
His two subordinates were always by his side since he was 9. Now they are 15, so they had stayed with
him for 6 years.
“Alright, let’s go then.”
They walked through the school gate. Suddenly, a flash of lightning appeared. Guren moved his head, and
the flash missed him.
“The fuck?” Guren asked angrily.
“My bad, my bad. I just wanted to know how strong you are. You know, not many people can dogde that.
I’m surprised.” The unknown student said.
He was handsome. And he seemed to be pretty strong. Guren smirked.
“Heh. What’s your name?” Guren asked.
“Shinya Hiragi. And you must be Guren Ichinose?” Shinya said.
“How do you know?”
“Well, I know about every house.”
Damn. Not good. Guren just appeared at school, and someone already knew who he was. It was like they
were waiting for him.
“Whatever. Sayuri, Shigure, let’s go to the gymnasium. They are holding the ceremony there.” Guren
signalled his subordinates to come with him.
“Yes, Guren-sama.” Sayuri & Shigure both come with him.
“Wait, we need to see our class first.” Guren suddenly remembered.

After knowing that Guren and his subordinates were in the same class 1-3, they went to the gymnasium.
The gymnasium was full of students, mostly first-year ones. They had already made some friends. Guren
looked around to find an empty seat. He spotted three empty seats at the first row. He gestured the other
two to come, and walked towards the seats. When he sat down, another girl sat down next to him. She
was beautiful. She had long beautiful ashen hair and dignified, resolute eyes. Even though her face was
best described as coldly well-chiseled, she did not appear cold at all. Guren glanced at her and turned
away after a few seconds to speak to Sayuri next to him. Suddenly, the girl next to him spoke up.
“Long time no see, Guren.” She said happily.
“Oh great. I haven’t even introduced myself, and now you know my name too. That guy Shinya too. Who
are you anyway?” Guren asked. He was puzzled.
The girl sniffed.
“You don’t remember me?” She was clearly hurt.
“No.” Guren said with a cold voice. He didn’t enjoy this at all. “Enjoyable”, you say? He was having the
worst time of his life. He was clearly being spied on.
“Ok, so you don’t remember me. I’m Mahiru Hiragi. And the Shinya you said is my fiance.”
“I don’t care. By the way, where did we met?” Guren asked.
“That’s harsh of you to not care about me. You used to take care of me in the past. And you must
remember that yourself.” Mahiru chuckled.
Guren turned away, trying to search his memory. Mahiru, Mahiru. Where did he heard that name?
“Damn, I couldn’t remember where I heard that name. It sounded so… familiar.”
“It indeed is.”
“What name, Guren-sama?” Sayuri asked Guren.
“Oh, you even get yourself a girlfriend, Guren?” Mahiru asked. She seemed a bit sad.
“She’s my subordinate.” Guren said.
Mahiru brightened up right away. Sayuri was about to say something, but she was interrupted by the
headmaster.
“Welcome, everyone! Welcome to First Shibuya High School! As you know, this school was set up to…”
And the headmaster continued speaking for 30 minutes.
“Now, I would like to introduce to you, Kureto Hiragi, the student council president. Kureto, would you
mind giving a speech?” The headmaster asked.
“No, I don’t mind.” A mysterious male voice said.
Then, Kureto appeared from the backstage. Kureto was a tall, young man with short black hair and
reddish brown eyes. He had thick eyebrows that zigzag up at the ends. He was going to give a speech.
“He’s my older brother.” Mahiru whispered.
Guren didn’t respond. He was still trying to remember where he heard her name.

Chapter 2: We met again, Guren.
After the ceremony, Guren and his subordinates came back to their class 1-3. Most of his classmates is
also there too. They had started making friends already. Guren, by the way, was not going to make any
friends. He had decided that friends are not needed. He only need his allies, his subordinates and the
Ichinose House, to help him. After about 2 minutes, the teacher came in.
“Hello, class. I’m Elizabeth von Heimrich, and I’ll be your teacher for the next 3 years. I’m German, by the
way.”
Right after her introduction, the boys started to whisper to each other.
“Wow, she’s beautiful!”
“I wonder if she has a boyfriend…”

After 5 minutes, the voice died down. She started to speak again.
“Anyways, I’d like to introduce you to our 2 new students.”
“What the fuck? We’re all new. Why don’t they just come in normally?” Guren thought.
“Okay, come in you two!” Elizabeth signaled them to come in.
When the two walk in, the class went quiet.
“Introduce yourselves!”
“Hello class, I’m Shinya Hiragi, and this is Mahiru Hiragi, my fiancee. Actually, I don’t really love her or
anything, so feel free to keep her as your personal belonging. But I don’t know what my dad will do to you
though.” Shinya smirked, looking at Guren.
Guren didn’t like Shinya’s look. He looked back at Shinya. He was waving.
“Fuck.”
“You’ve heard it guys, I’m Mahiru Hiragi. You can call me Mahiru. Well, he’s my fiance, but you can keep
him too.” Mahiru paid Shinya back for trolling her. And she looked at Guren too.
He tried to ignore the stares from his classmates, but he couldn’t keep up with it.
“What’s wrong with you guys? Stop looking at me. I’m not an animal in the zoo.” Guren was pissed off.
His classmates stopped looking. Mahiru smiled.
“Well, now you can choose any empty seats.” Elizabeth said.
Mahiru went straight to Guren – she had chosen a seat behind him. Shinya sat next to him.
Shit. Guren was surrounded. He sighed.
“The next 3 years…”

It was time for lunch. Guren, Sayuri and Shigure were heading for the canteen to buy some sandwiches,
when suddenly, Mahiru grabbed Guren by the arm. He looked back.

“It’s rude to speak like that to a girl. I was going to invite you to have lunch with me, but seems like you
don’t want to.” Mahiru put on a sad face.
“I don’t care. Leave me alone.” Guren turned away.
He was about to go away but she hugged him. He was surprised. “Shigured” blushed madly.
“Hey, you, what do you think you’re doing??”
“Just hugging my lover.” Mahiru smirked.
“What? I don’t even know you, and now you just jumped out of from seemingly nowhere and say that I’m
your lover? Please, don’t make me laugh.” Guren defended himself.
“Aw, that hurts. I said that I wanted to marry you when we were small, and you agreed. Don’t you
remember?”
Ah, now I remember. She was that little girl.
“I remember now. But the past is the past, you should let it go.” Guren walked away.
“Guren-sama, is it true that she proposed to you?” Shigure asked him.
“You don’t need to know.”
Shigure shut up right away.
Mahiru looked at him with teary eyes.
Chapter 3: Shinya’s so annoying.
“Hey, isn’t that Guren Ichinose? I’d like to fight you one day. You must be very strong since you dodged
my attack last time. Mahiru talked about you all the time too. Oh, you can have her, I don’t mind; I only
care about who you are. You seems like a pretty mysterious guy.” Shinya was approaching him. Behind
him was Mahiru.
“Hey Guren!” Mahiru waved at Guren, but he didn’t seem to care.
Guren was sitting on the roof with Shigure and Sayuri, eating yakisoba bread. He remembered telling
Sayuri to block the door to the roof, but it seemed like they had broken the door.
“What do you want?” Guren said, preparing to leave.
“Don’t leave so soon, will you? We just want to talk.”
“Actually, I wanted to fight him Mahiru.” Shinya said.
“Ohhh, nice, I’d like to see my lover and fiance fight over me. Teehee.” Mahiru surely was having fun.
Not Guren. He hated this. Why do they always have to interrupt him?
He didn’t understand, and he didn’t want to either.
“Can you guys stay away from me? What does the Hiragi have to do with the Ichinose? Are you spying on
me?” Guren said with a disturbed voice.
“Ok, how about this: You fight me, I win -> You have to play with us. I lose -> I won’t disturb you anymore.
Tie -> You have to play with us, but if you don’t want to, you can have your private time. Fair enough?”
Shinya smirked.
“Why is it always me?” Guren mumbled.

They met up at the school’s gym. They would fight using wooden swords provided by the gym. Students
were starting to flock to the gym.
“Hey, that guy is trying to fight Shinya-sama.”
“Haha, he’s dead.”
“Hey, isn’t that Kureto-sama?” Someone shouted.
Right after that, they all went quiet. Kureto was walking in the gym. He whispered something to Shinya.
He seemed to be shocked. After a few seconds, Kureto left. They all start cheering again.
“Looks like they support me more, hehe.” Shinya gave an awkward smile.
“I don’t need support from them.”
“I’ll support you?” Mahiru said hopefully.
“No thanks.”
“Rude.”
Shigure and Sayuri were also there. They were cheering louder than anyone.
Everyone looked at them. Realizing everyone was looking, they stopped, blushing.
“Damn it, they’re killing me with their stares.” Guren was definitely annoyed.
“Let’s start, shall we?”
Not saying anything, Guren approached quickly.
“Woa, he’s fast!” Shinya and the crowd thought.
Guren hit Shinya in the hip. Shinya was barely dodged that.
“That was close.” Shinya said.
“That’s my lover. You surely are stronger now, Guren. I might give them a nudge.” Mahiru thought,
smiling.
“HEY! I will sleep with the winner, so hurry up! I’m waiting!” Mahiru yelled.
Guren was not interested.
“I’ll let you win so you can sleep with her.”
“Wait, what?” Shinya was confused.
Right when Shinya was aiming at his stomach, he pretended to not be able to stop that, letting Shinya hit
him, thus flying in the wall. He pretended to have fainted.
“Shinya-sama won!”
Everyone was cheering. Shinya stood still, puzzled.
“Nice work, Shinya. Although I wanted Guren to win more…” Mahiru said to him.

After a few minutes, everyone left, except for Guren, still pretending to have fainted, Shinya, Mahiru, and
Shigure and Sayuri.
“Leave Guren to me.” Mahiru said to the others.
“Sure.” The three said.
After those three left, Mahiru approached Guren.
“Stop pretending. I know you’re stronger than that.”
Guren didn’t respond. Did he actually fainted? Or was he sleeping? Mahiru wanted to know.
“So we’re playing Sleeping Beauty huh? This will wake you up.”
Mahiru kissed him on the forehead. Guren woke up right away.
“I didn’t wake up because I wanted to be alone. And I pretended to lose so that I don’t have to sleep with
you.” Guren stared at Mahiru.
“Aw, I really wanted to. After all, I’ll make you mine like when we were younger. I proposed to you,
remember?”
“The past is the past. Let it go.”
Guren stood up and walked away. Mahiru quickly ran to catch up with him.
“Shinya’s so fucking annoying. Now I’ll have to be your friends. Damn it.” Guren was angry because his
plan for a peaceful life at the high school was destroyed it just 2 days.

Chapter 4: Guren’s escape.

“I really don’t want to have friends. What should I do?” Guren said while walking with Shigure and Sayuri
to school.
“I think you should hide.” Sayuri replied.
“Hmm, nice idea. I’ll try to hide whenever they head towards me.” Guren smiled.

Right when the teacher came out of the class, Guren jumped out of the window and safely landed on a
bush. He ran to the school’s garden.
“They’ll never find me here. This is perfect.” Guren said while breathing heavily.
Meanwhile, Shinya and Mahiru were still in the class.
“Hey, where did he go?” Shinya asked Shigure.
“No need to worry. I’ll find him.” Mahiru smirked.
She saw him jumping out of the window but she did not stop him.
“You’re my lover after all.”
She jumped out of the window too.

“Hmm, hmm, hmm”
Guren was having a good time drinking the coke that he got from the vending machine. Suddenly, he
heard some branches broke behind him. He turned back, and it was Mahiru.
“Oh, no.” Guren face-palmed himself.
“Aww, darling, why are you hiding here? I wanted to see you so bad that my heart hurts to hear that you
don’t want to keep your promise. Let’s come back.” She said, smiling, her hand reaching out to Guren.
Guren jumped back right away. There was a weird kill aura around her, even though she was smiling.
Wait, why did he jump back? Was he scared? No, of course. But he could just sense the deadly aura from
Mahiru. There was another feeling behind that fake smile. Like, anger.
“Haha, you’ll catch me Mahiru.” Guren tried teasing her.
But that plan backfired. Mahiru thought he was serious.
“I guess I have no choice but to use force.” Mahiru said, still smiling.
“Shit.” Guren mumbled.
In just one second, Mahiru was standing in front of Guren.
“What?!”
“I got you, darling” She held a firm grip onto his arm.
“Mahiru.”
“Yes?”
“First, I’m not your darling. It’s Shinya. And second, I’m not here.”
“Eh?”
Right after that, the hand that Mahiru was holding on turned into a wooden stick, and Guren was at the
door, sticking out his tongue to tease her.
“Tch. Guren, you’re stronger than the past, aren’t you?”
“No. I’m just the old Guren you know.”
“Liar.”
Just when she finished that word, she kicked off the ground and ran to him at an incomprehensible speed.
But, Guren could clearly see where she’s getting at. He immediately closed the door behind him, and
blocked it with a huge rock. Of course, that couldn’t stop Mahiru for long. She kicked the door and it
instantly broke. He leapt onto the school walls and started running. Mahiru caught up right away.
“Sorry, Guren, but if it’s a straight line, you’re already dead.”
“Really? Let’s see about that.”
Chapter 5: Gotcha!
Guren jumped onto a tree near the wall and quickly climbed to the top of the tree. Seeing Mahiru
approaching, screaming “Haha, dead end!”, Guren knew he had to find a way out of this situation, or shit
might actually hit the fan for him. He quickly looked around and found a rope from a house roof. He
immediately clinged onto the rope and started climbing. Mahiru was a bit astonished at first, but hastily
kept up her pace. She was really near to where Guren is now, and she wouldn’t let him out of her sight.
“Sorry, Mahiru, but I had to do this. I don’t need friends.”
“Eh? Guren, wait a sec-”
Mahiru couldn’t finish her sentence, because when she was climbing, he cut off the rope. Mahiru fell
down, but of course, she could survive that. She’s a Hiragi after all.
“Tch. Guren, stop resisting already! Come down here and I’ll give you a surprise!”
“No thanks. My life is full of surprises.”
And with that, he ran away.

20 minutes later…

Guren is still resting on the roof of some random house. He made sure that it was far enough from the
school, or else Mahiru might find out. It was lunch time, and so students were free for about 1 hour.
“40 minutes left. A pretty long time. I’m hungry.”
He climbed down and spotted a grocery store. He entered it while still keeping his guard up.
“Hmm. Is this better one better? Or this one?”
He was having trouble picking the right type of bread.
“This one is better.”
“Really? Thanks.”
Guren turned around to see who helped him. It was… Mahiru.
“Having a good time?” Mahiru said, smiling, but her killing intent was as clear as ever.
“Yep. Definitely.” Guren said while backing off.
Mahiru grabbed him by the arm.
“There’s no running. What a shame that this store is owned by my mother’s friend, and he quickly
informed me that you were here. The door is locked.”
“At least can I go to the WC?”
“There’s no window.”
Damn it, what should he do now? There was no possible escape route.
“Hold up, let’s wait until I get out of the store.” Guren thought.
“I know what you’re thinking, Guren. I won’t let you go when we get outside.”
“Oh great. You’re a psychic or something?”
Then Mahiru proceeded to pull out a lock (the type you use for dogs) and put it on Guren’s neck.
“What in the world…”
“Well, that’s for preventing you from running away. I had to do it, otherwise you might run away again.”
And just like that, Guren was dragged all the way back to school.

The break was nearly over, to be exact, there was only ten minutes left. Guren was extremely hungry, and
couldn’t go get some food.
“Oh, you’re hungry, Guren? I have some food left from my bento, you want some?”
“No. I’d rather starve to death.”
“I know you’re hungry, stop being a naughty boy. Well, I guess I have no choice.”
Mahiru then put the food in her mouth.
“Yeah, just eat them.”
“It’s not for me.”
‘What?”
Before he could say anything more, she gave him a passionate kiss and pushed the food into his mouth
with her tongue.
“Uhm.”
It was a long kiss, and when they parted, a line of saliva could be seen.
“What the heck??” Guren could feel his face heating up.
Mahiru was blushing madly. It seemed like it was her first kiss.
“Umm… Let’s come back, shall we?” Mahiru asked, still blushing.
“Yeah. Let’s do that.”
