shortness of breath and strain your chest muscles to breathe. I think you’ve got an asthma
attack
P : Really? How can I get it ?
N : I think that must be a lot of dust when you cleaned your office yesterday. The dust is
one that can cause your airways become swollen and inflamed. After that, the muscles around
the airways contract and the airways also produce extra mucus, that causing your breathing
(bronchial) tubes to narrow, and you have trouble in breathing.
P : Oh I see, what should I do now ?
N : The doctor will prescribe you a medication that can reduce your asthma attack.
Please follow me to the next room. (10 minutes later, the patient have a consultation with the
doctor, and the doctor prescribed a medicine for the patient)
N : Ok, there is the medication that the doctor prescribed for you, please take this 3x/day
after meal.
P : Ok nurse thank you
N : Your welcome, and when you feel that you getting better please avoid exposure to
an allergen such as animal dander, dust mites or pollen, strong smells (perfumes or other
odors), and stress. The best way to avoid an asthma attack is to make sure your asthma is
well-controlled in the first place. When you think you’ve got an asthma attack please take
your medication as prescribed in your written asthma plan, if it getting worst please see your
doctor as soon as possible.
