- Smart board
Resources Needed / Booked - Hibiscus flower
- Dissection pan, Cardboard paper, ruler, tweezers, tape

1- Have students think of all the ways that plants can produce new plants,
and make a list on the board.
2- Explain to the students that flowers are beautiful to us, but to the plant
they serve a critical function. Flowers are how plants produce seeds or

may be moved from the anther to the stigma.

Vocabulary
Stamen (anther/filament) – Carpel (stigma/style/ovary) – Petal – Sepal –
Pollination – Fertilization.
Dissect hibiscus flower to investigate structure, label parts and match functions.

Students’ participation in the class discussion to assess their understanding

Assessment (Collection of Data) of the topic.
and Evaluation (Integration of
Data) See whether they students can explain the reproduction process of a plant,
identifying the different parts of flower.
