TASK 2: REFLECTION

On 10th February 2021, PPISMP semester two TESL students were given a
coursework task where they have to organise a language camp for PISMP semester two
TESL seniors. The instruction is, in a group of three, the students needed to propose three
activities for the language camp and in the end, we must choose one out of the three
activities to be conducted at the language camp. My group which is group 3 consist of
Muhammad Fairuz Bin Norrazali, Nurul Iffah Binti Misri Amir and I, Muhammad Ikmal Haziq
Bin Mohamad Halmay.

After we received our briefing that was given by the lecturers, I and my classmates
formed groups of three as fast as we can and the group that I joined consist of Nurul Iffah
Binti Misri Amir, Muhammad Fairuz Bin Norrazali and I, Muhammad Ikmal Haziq Bin
Mohamad Halmay. We take a long time to discuss the three activities that we will put in our
proposal as each group were required to have different activities. At first, we faced some
difficulties as the camp have to be done online and the activities have to be on a higher level
as the contestants are PISMP semester two seniors. After some research and
brainstorming, we managed to decide the three activities that will be put in our proposal. The
three activities that my group have created are called ‘Secret Mission’, ‘Solve The Proverb’
and ‘Save The Man’. Once we have decided on the three activities, we presented them to
the lecturers through Google Meet to gain the lecturer’s approval however, our first activity
which is ‘Secret Mission’ was rejected by the lecturers. Later, we changed the ’Secret
Mission’ activity to ‘Solve The Proverb’. As soon as my group finished editing our proposal,
we once again asked the approval from the lecturers and this time, we managed to get the
green light to proceed with the new proposal.

After making some improvements in each activity, we were required to determine the
activity that will be used during the language camp. My group chose ‘Solve The Proverb’ as
our activity and they will approve it but we need to make some adjustment to the submission
of the answer for that activity. Later all the groups from my class joined a Google Classroom
for the language camp. Then, a few days before the language camp, our lecturer tried to
play the game to identify if there is an error or if it needs any further improvement so that it
will go smoothly when the language camp starts.
 5th March 2021, the day of language camp, the seniors were divided into twelve
groups and each group have to play every game that was prepared by PPISMP semester
two TESL students. First, around 3.00 p.m., they entered the Google Classroom that we
have created a few days prior. When they entered the checkpoints that were conducted by
my group, each group take quite some time to choose which question that they want and to
answer the question. There are some problems occurred that make us disappointed which is
some group take too much time to complete the questions that they choose. The next
problem is that some of the groups are using the same sentence that they found on the
internet which means that they don’t use their own words to answer the question. The last
problems that we found out are that some of the participants have problems with their
internet connection that they have to take a long time even when they are just trying to
access the Google Sheets. After all the seniors have completed the questions at my group’s
checkpoint, I believe that there are still many aspects that we can improve. If we are given a
chance to handle a camp again in the future, we are happy to participate as a part of the
organiser for that camp.
