2017 Statement of Barangay Address (SOBA)

Hon. Brenda B. Paule

Punong Barangay

A Barangay Captain (Filipino: Punong Barangay), also known as a Barangay

Chairman, is the highest elected official in a barangay, the smallest level of administrative
divisions of the Philippines. Unexpectedly, this highest position was given to me due to the
reason that the current barangay captain, Hon. Darwin Lingad was elected as Member of
Sangguniang Bayan.

My first term as Barangay Chairwoman was not easy, but with the guidance of
Almighty and with the never ending support of the barangay council, year 2017 was indeed
a successful.

Today, allow me to lay down all the accomplishments we have for the entire year.
First, the public safety and security was revitalized to secure the constituents of the
barangay. In cooperation with the Municipal Police we were able to maintain peace and
order in the community.

Second, heath and sanitation was given budget for the year. We purchased medical
supplies and apparatus that will be intended to the needs of the barangay. Financial
assistance was also extended to the poor members of the barangay to address their needs
when it comes to health.

Third, constant meeting and attendance to different programs and activities of the
elementary and secondary schools was also attended by the council. We continue also
extended the scholarship program to the youth of the barangay.

Then, we allocated enough funds to improve our infrastructures such as or roads,

drainage, and riprap.

Next, the Barangay PESO Coordinator was very dynamic in helping our
constituents to look for decent jobs thru our Municipal PESO.

Finally, proper segregation of waste as a mandatory program of the Provincial and

Municipal government was given attention. We encourage the constituents to strictly follow
the segregation of waste.

My first term as Barangay Chairwoman was indeed challenging, along with the
adjustment with this huge responsibility was the dilemma on how I can respond to
different needs of my constituents, but at the end the day I can proudly say that I survive it.
I would like to take this opportunity to extend my gratitude to our God for this great
opportunity to be of service to our constituents. To my hardworking barangay kagawad
and other employees of the barangay, thank you for helping me in carrying the plans and
programs for our constituents. May we continue to be committed with our promise to give
what is beneficial to our constituents.

Thank you and God bless us all.

Hon. Brenda B. Paule
