PR INCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents
Children are naturally curious and learn in a variety of ways-through experience, exploring, experimenting,
reading, discussing, asking, thinking and reflecting.
During their early years, children form attitudes about learning that last a lifetime. Children who receive the
right kind of support and encouragement during these years will evolve into creative, adventurous learners for
the rest of their lives.
Continuous Evaluation is one such tool that assesses learning in both scholastic and co-scholastic areas, which
are spread over the total span of the instructional time.
The students will be assessed on the basis of the evaluation/testing guide lines set by CBSE. The scholastic
area comprises of Monday Tests. Each term will have two Monday Tests. All assessments with regard to the
academic status of students will be conducted in marks (every quarter) and co-scholastic areas will be indicated
in grades (once a year).
Scholastic Domain
A Monday Test is an ongoing assessment of the child and has two components: a pen-paper test(i.e. the Monday
Test), and another assessment (collaborative and creative based), which could be in the form of a quiz, a debate, a
power point presentation, research work, art work, a project, a role play, class interaction, home work, class
work submission etc.
NOTE: (only for classes IV & V)
A student will be eligible for the scholar badge on attaining 80% and above in each of the subjects mentioned:
English, Hindi, Mathematics, General Science and Social Science.
He / She should score at least 75% each in IT, GK and III language.
Co-Scholastic Domain
In addition to the learner’s achievements in specific subjects, assessments will also gauge attitude towards
learning and the ability to learn independently. This assessment will be done once a year, in Term II.
The desirable behaviour related to the learner’s interests, co-curricular activities and physical health are
described as skills to be acquired in the co-scholastic domain.
The continuous evaluation will be done by a team of teachers interacting with the students at various levels.
Teachers will maintain anecdotal records of these assessments to have a holistic view of the same. The students
will also be assessed for discipline which will be based on factors like attendance, adherence to rules and
regulations, attitude towards peers and adults. Such an assessment will provide students, parents and teachers
with valid information concerning student’s progress.
Parents are requested to be partners and guides in the child’s academic journey. Value based skills like
honesty, consistent hard work, making schedules and sticking to them should be supported and encouraged.
Pressurising children has rarely worked!
