10. BE GOING TO FUTURE

• Yapısı : be going to + V1
• Kullanımı:
a. geleceğe yönelik planlanmış aktiviteler.
 I am going to order some books online today.
 We are going to have a holiday in Ayvalık this summer.
 Emma and Liam are going to get married in June.

BE GOING TO ≈ PRESENT CONT. TENSE

• konuşma dilinde, yakın gelecek, şahsi planlarımızdan bahsederken «be going to» yerine
«present cont.» da kullanılabilir.
 I am moving my house next weekend. Can you come and help me? ( =am going to move)
 Ted is visiting us this evening.You can join us if you like. (=is going to visit)

!!! Konuşma dilinde «be going to» ile «will» birbirinin yerine sıklıkla kullanılır. Anlam farkı
çok yaratmazlar.
 I’m going to stay home and relax today.
= I’ll stay home and relax today.

• tüm gelecek zaman kullanımlarında yaygın olan ifadeler:
• soon = before long = shortly = briefly
 I expect interest rates will decrease before long.
 Pam will be home shortly.
 I’ll be there to help you briefly.

• when after until

as soon as before once = when = as soon as
• Yukarıda verilen zaman bağlaçlarıyla bitişik olarak «will» kullanılmaz. Ana cümle will future
ya da be going to future ile kullanılabilir.
• Zaman bağlaçlarında gelecek anlamını vermek için en yaygın «Simple Present» kullanılır.
 When I present my opinion, they will support me in the meeting.
 We will stay here until the rain stops.
 The children will have a strong meal before they go out.
 After I finish work, I will just watch TV and relax.

• when ≈ once = as soon as
• «once» ve «as soon as», «şu olur olmaz» anlamına gelir.
 I am sure they will ask for more as soon as we start meeting their demands.
 You will understand how your mother feels once you have your own children.
 Once we decrease the dropout rates, we will concentrate on other educational issues
more easily.

• Herhangi bir cümlede «once» ve «as soon as» i çıkarıp, when koyarız, anlamda bozulma
olmuyorsa bu iki bağlaç doğru kullanılmıştır.

!!! Zaman bağlaçlarıyla gelecek zaman anlamını vermek için «Simple Present» kullanılır
demiştik. Buna ek olarak, bazen de «Present Perfect» kullanılabilir.
 I will take a break after I have finished the exercises on page 7. (=after I finish...)
 They will give me a call once they have repaired my computer. (=once they repair...)
 Until we have established a steady growth rate, I will not feel completely relieved.
(=until we establish...)

• the last time … (en son … olduğunda)

 The last time I saw Jim, he was flying to Jamaica.

FUTURE TENSES – ZAMAN KAYMALARI

1. Present Continuous tense, future anlamda...
 After New Year, I am definitely following a strict diet.
 Timothy is cancelling his Netflix membership this month.

2. Simple Present Tense: timetable ve schedule’larda, yani bir zaman çizelgesi, saat tarifesi ya
da programlarda Simple Present tense, future anlam verebilir.
 Our plane leaves at 7 tomorrow.
 The movie starts at 8 in the evening.
 Their bus arrives in less than an hour.

• Gelecekte «nokta»nın ne olduğunu belirtmek için kesinlikle bir zaman ifadesi kullanılmak
zorundadır.
 I will be giving an exam at 12 tomorrow.
 We will be having a picnic at 2 in the afternoon on Saturday.
 I can’t watch the match with you today, I will be having a Skype call with my boss then.

12. FUTURE PERFECT TENSE

• Yapısı: will have + V3
• Kullanımı: Gelecekte belli bir noktaya kadar bitmiş olacak eylem ya da durumlar için
kullanılır.
• (şu zamana kadar) «şunu yapmış olacağım» anlamına gelir.

FUTURE PERFECT TENSE – ANAHTAR İFADELER - 1

• Anahtar ifadeler: by / by the time
 I will have graduated from university by 2022.
VERSUS
I will graduate from university in 2022.
 My father will have retired by 2025.
 By the time we improve the conditions here, they will have found another company to
work with.
 Today’s children will have consumed 18 years’ worth of sugar by the time they turn 10.

FUTURE PERFECT TENSE – ANAHTAR İFADELER - 2

• in 2 years (time)
within 4 weeks (time)
 I will have set up my own business in 5 years’ time.
 You will have received the documents in 2 weeks.
• when & before (çok yaygın değildirler)
 I will have finished eating when you come to pick me up. («by the time» çok daha uygun
olurdu.)
 I will have moved out of this city before you move out of this city!

BY / BY THE TIME (KISA ÖZET)

• Her iki zaman bağlacı da «şu tarih itibariyle şu iş bitmiş olacak» demek için kullanılır.
• Past Perfect (Cont.) ve Future Perfect (Cont.) tense’leri ile yaygın kullanılırlar.
• By 1985,Turkey had witnessed 3 military coups in its modern history.
By 2030, scientists will have found a cure for many types of cancer.
• By the time + Simple Present, Future Perf. (cont.)
 By the time you get this letter, I will have gone far far away.
 I will have gone far far away by the time you get this letter.

• By the time + Simple Past, Past Perfect (cont.)

 By the time I was born, my father had left the country to work abroad. OR

• Yapısı: will have been + Ving
• Kullanımı: Gelecekte belli bir noktaya gelindiğinde «şu olay şu kadar süredir yapılıyor
olmuş olacak» demek için kullanılır.

FUTURE PERFECT CONTINOUS TENSE - 2

• Örnek cümleler:
 By the time I retire, I will have been working here for more than 45 years.
 I will have been waiting for the train for 3 hours by 2 PM.

• Anahtar ifadeler: by / by the time / when / for

• Bu tense, aynen Present Perfect Cont. ve Past Perfect Cont. gibi, sürecin altını çizer.
!!! «Perfect Continuous» tense’lerin üçü de «geçen süre / süreç»in altını çizerler.

FUTURE TENSES – KISA ÖZET

• will future (simple) : «yapacağım»
 I will work in Thailand for 6 years. (6 yıl Tayland’da çalışacağım.)

• will be Ving : «(şunu) yapıyor olacağım»

 I will be working in Thailand in summer, 2024. (2024 yazında Tayland’da çalışıyor olacağım.)

• will have V3 : «(şunu) yapmış olacağım»

 I will have returned Turkey by 2025. (2025 itibariyle Türkiye’ye dönmüş olacağım.)

• will have been Ving : «(şu kadar süredir şunu) yapıyor olmuş olacağım»
 I will have been working in Thailand for 5 years by 2024. (2024 itibariyle 5 yıldır Tayland’da
çalışıyor olmuş olacağım.)
