All The Professional Counseling Firms/Institutions,

All Mental Health Advocacy Institutions,
All Rehabilitation Centers
All Professional Counseling Training Institutes
Nakuru County.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

REF: ‘PROFESIONAL COUNSELING SERVICE WEEK & EXHIBITION ’ IN

NAKURU COUNTY TO PROMOTE PROFESSIONAL COUNSELING IN OUR
COUNTY.

Background Information
Counseling Psychologists’ Consortium (CPC) is a registered organization whose principal
objective and mandate is to offer professional counseling services to the members of the public
from the young & the old, the male & female and to the general corporate fraternity.

CPC is a pool of well trained and qualified professional counselors whose individual members
also double as registered members of various National Counselors/Psychologists’
Associations/Consortiums in the Republic of Kenya.

The Above proposed ‘Professional Counseling Week and Exhibition’ is a brain child of CPC
and our basic idea here is to link up with other like-minded Professional Counseling
Firms/Institutions in Nakuru County to promote Professional Counseling Services during and
Post- Covid 19 pandemic.

PATNERSHIP WITH THE NAKURU COUNTY GOVERNMENT.

We are in the process of approaching the County of Nakuru for a possible partnership and to
see the serious need of this noble idea by offering the Counseling firms and institutions who
will register in this exhibition and to grant the following waivers;
 Pitching of Exhibition Counseling Tents
 Parking slot for the Counseling Tents
 Brochures/Handbills/Posters for the Counseling Firms in this exhibition
 The Joint Public Address System during the ‘Professional Counseling Week/Exhibition’
REGISTRATION PROCEDURES
This is a planning work in progress but we tentatively proposed for Early or Mid-March 2021
for this ‘professional counseling week/exhibition’ and we are requesting all the interested
Counseling Firms/Institutions to register with us for the purpose of planning as we organize for
stakeholders’ meeting either physically or through zoom to articulate the issues well for the
success of this noble idea.
We request every Firm/Institutions to register with ksh.1,500 as a sign of Commitment and this
will go a long way in planning for the meeting with the same stakeholders to make it come to
pass.
There shall be no any other charges except for what all Counseling Firms/Institution will pay
directly to the County Government of Nakuru should we not get any County Government
waivers as indicated above.
We shall submit the official application for such waivers for all registered counseling firms.
Pleases when you find this ‘proposed joint promotion of professional counseling in Nakuru’
a good idea, then you can pay your Registration fees of ksh.1,500 to Pay bill No.222911
(Counseling Psychologists’ Consortium)with your Firm Name as the Account for easier
reference and for Administrative purposes .

PSYCHOLOGICAL PREPAREDNESS
We are urging all the potential Counseling Firms/Institutions likely to participate in this
Exhibition to prepare themselves psychologically in the following areas just in case the County
Government Waiver shall not be forth coming:
 Hiring of small tents for the Counseling Exhibition
 Paying for the parking spaces(we are likely to do this in a particular street in Nakuru
town)
 Paying for the stamping of the Brochure/ handbills/posters containing our Counseling
Firms’ messages, Counseling specialties and contact.
 Paying for A joint Public Address System for the Days during the Counseling
Week/Exhibition.
 Fare and transportation cost for firms outside Nakuru town like Naivasha, Molo, Subukia
etc.

Other Possible Requirements(Optional for organizations).

For Firms with more than three Staff/Counselors;
We proposed (for the purpose of being seen as organized in the eye of the public)to have
 The firm/institution uniform during the exhibition
 Design brochures /Handbill for that purpose
 Upon formal registration with us for this purpose, be ready to join our physical or zoom
meetings for finer planning.
 In the stakeholder meeting we shall all together identify prominent local Nakuru
leader/leaders to open or close this Counseling exhibitions like the Governor, Regional
Commissioner, County Commissioner or any other at that leadership level.
CONCLUSION
As part of Professional Counselors/Psychologists in Kenya we are all aware that our Services are
required more during and Post- Covid 19 but of all the Professional Cadres placed under the
Ministry of Health we kind of got some raw deal in matters Professional Counseling and this
may be attributed to some lack of Awareness in the importance of professional counseling.
As the Nakuru Counselors/Psychologists, we can do our small bits to promote our Profession
from the grass root and if all counselors in all parts of our Nation do their small parts we will
take tis profession to the next level.
Thanks for purposing to be part of this proposed ‘Professional Counseling Service
Week/Exhibition’ in Nakuru Kenya.

Yours Faithfully

Signed for all the other CPC Leaders.
