the Childrens home proyect.

News 1 Children’s Home (Mauro) (60 seg)

Hi Mauricio

I was working on this project around four years ago, because Omwaana Tugende Children’s
Home is special for me, Furthermore, In Adelanteafrica we proposed relocating the home to
farmland behind the primary school, and once the new Home is constructed, our objective is
to turn the current Home into a technical college for young women in the area, Is very
Important remember that Children’s Home is at the side of the Marram Road which runs
from Kakumiro to Hoima, and since (tuenysixtin) the Uganda government and China oil
Company, is constructing a big road, this new road poses a major risk to our children’s who
walk everyday to home.

Niceeee, can u tell about the proyect “Diabetic Association”?, We know Covid 19 change
a bit the rules.

Volunteer:​ ​Since February, the Daibetics Association has started meeting again.

Do you have any kind of new protocols?

Volunteer:​ Yees, T
​ he meetings take place outside and with facemasks and all security
protocols for covid 19 (Nineteen)

Whats the problem with the glucometers in Uganda?

Volunteer: ​ Ok, the main problem is that the members of the association are concerned
because there are no strips for the glucometers provided by a Spanish doctor, Dra Alba
Galdón, who visits us every year.

In fact, no one has visited Uganda from Spain since March last year.

Niceeeee, the last one volunteer in our group is Nata, who has been
working on the education program. Nata, im glad to see u. Can you tell about
the proyect?

Volunteer:​Adelante Africa has a secondary school, we are very happy `cause there is a
group of young people who have been together since September and now are preparing for
their exams.

Thats a really nive job, it is that program just for childrens?

​ e work with adults too. We teach the men and women of the ​Kakumiro
Volunteer: No, w
community to read and write. But classes had stopped due to the pandemic, in January they
returned to the program with COVID precautions, everyone must wear their face masks,
wash their hands and keep social distancing.

It a nice movement, is really god to keep in mind to work together.
