I. INTRODUCTION
On March 29, 2019, we had our educational tour in Subic Bay, Philippines. We
assembled at Lyceum of the Philippines-Cavite and left at 5:00am in the morning. It was
a long ride from Cavite to Subic, so we spent the time singing karaoke songs throughout
the trip.
Our first destination was Subic Power Generation Corporation. We were oriented on
how the supply of power works and how is it connected with the demand and supply that
we are discussing during class discussions. The second destination was Translift Port
Equipment Services Inc. where we were oriented on how they make steel products and
parts. We were toured around the facility where they make various products. It was very
spacious, but it was very humid. We stayed the night in Subic Traveler’s Hotel and had a
short seminar minutes after our arrival.
The next day, we went to Ocean Adventure and watched different performances. On
our way home, we went to Duty Free to buy pasalubongs and other stuff.

II. SIGNIFICANCE OF EDUCATIONAL TOUR

The importance of this educational tour lies on its goal which is to educate the
students about how economics work in real life. It aims to show more than what the
books and internet could offer and give the students a firsthand experience on various
industry in our country. Also, it serves as a break from school works and a time to enjoy
ourselves and be in a new environment.
III. LEARNING INSIGHTS

A. Educational Aspect
In the first destination, we learned about how the power supply works and that
different market or buyers use different source of electricity. They also have different
prices for different time periods because it depends on the demand for the specific
power source.

In the second destination, we were taught about the process in manufacturing steel
parts and other products and how they operate within the factory.

B. Personal Aspect
For me, I appreciated more of our country seeing Subic. There are places in our
country that are prosperous and excels in economy as well as in taking care of nature
and wildlife. They promote awareness on not only human matters but also for other
living creatures so I can’t help but think about how we’ll do if we also do it in Cavite
and even better, nationwide.

IV. PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED

The schedule that was given to us was not followed and there were
misunderstandings with the announcement of the seminar, so we were unprepared for
it. Other than that, the tour was great.

V. SYNTHESIS
This tour was enjoyable and at the same time educational. I was able to gain new
knowledge and experience. It was worth it because I was able to go to a new place
and I was able to get the best out of it because it served as a bonding for our section..
