Professional Synopsis

Graduate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with 7 years of combined experience in the Procurement,
value engineering, sourcing, vendor development and costing in Renewable Energy sector (Wind turbine) as
a Sourcing and Supply chain Engineer (Global / Domestic). Currently responsible for (but not limited to)

ReGen Powertech Private Limited., is a 5000 Crore turnover company, involved in Manufacturing, Assembly &
Commissioning of 1.5, 2 and 2.8 MW Gearless Wind Electric Generator. ReGen Powertech is one among the largest
manufacturer of multi megawatt direct drive (Gearless) WECs with permanent magnet technology in Indian market and
provides full turnkey installations for wind power projects. ReGen has a technology license agreement with Vensys of
Germany for 1.5 & 2 MW synchronous permanent magnet gearless turbines.

Key Deliverables

 Responsible for procurement of entire range of cables, motors, switchgears, Measuring instruments, Ultra
capacitors, Inductor choppers, Batteries, Sensors, Filters and many other active and passive electronic
components required for Wind turbine.
 Ensuring smooth co-ordination with indenting dept. and corresponding with Suppliers on scope of supply and
specifications. 
 To ensure placement of purchase orders as per the purchase guidelines and to direct PO to suppliers.
 Releasing monthly requirement plan to vendor in regular intervals.
 Coordinate with suppliers and to accelerating for the timely delivery of materials.
 Ensure materials are sent by suppliers with proper documentation to the factory.

 Regular visit to factory to look after consumption of component on FIFO basis, and to address the component
related issues from technicians and solving it at vendor end, also to elucidate pending GRN issues at stores to
ease further process.
 Cost Saving initiatives through alternate sourcing, negotiation and value engineering.
 Handled imports & exports, LC documents, High sea sale transactions in compliance to INCOTERMS, co-
ordination with finance and giving them hedging request.
 Supporting design team in selecting and developing New/Alternate Product, also Identifying dedicated /
alternate vendor source for achieving cost effective purchases.
 Assessment of the performance of the vendors based on various criterions such as percentage for rejections,
quality improvement rate, timely delivery, credit terms, etc.
 Handling global procurements from prestigious suppliers across the globe viz. USA, Korea, Denmark, Swiz,
Germany and China.
 Maintaining and upkeep of documentation as per agreed QMS requirement. Continuing and distribution
records and monitor pending shipments and ensured incoming materials are as per the specifications required.

Highlights

 Procurement of Major Domestic and Imported Electrical components and consumables required for WD 2.8 – 3
MW prototype turbine.
 Preparation and handling of High Sea Sale documentation.
 Initiated Hollow price working (By estimating Raw material, process and tool cost) and attained abrupt
reduction in Purchase cost for the major components like cables, Transformers, Choppers, bus bars, fabricated
parts and other few components.
 Development of alternative local sources for the imported components for better costing and lead-time.
 Part in Indigenization of electrical assemblies and components like pitch box assembly, Cables, Ultra capacitors,
Fog filters & enclosures, SSI Encoders, Pitch motors, sensors, etc.
 Supported intern (MBA student) on his project on Supply chain management under guidance of AVP- SCM.
 Out sourced new suppliers for different products, Maintain Supplier Data Base and administers vendor

Key Deliverables

 Sole Responsible for purchasing of Complete Electrical and electronic components required to manufacture
Electrical control panels (In-house) and procurement of Sheet metal fabricated components, Converter and
controllers, Switchgear components, Energy meters, CTPT, cables and fasteners for P250 and P750 KW Wind
Turbine models.
 Handle all aspects of procurement process including identify the sources, select and negotiate for the best
purchase package in terms of quality, price, payment terms, deliveries and services with suppliers.
 Accountable for purchasing components for both project and service requirements.
 Part in supporting other minor mechanical components and involved in logistics functions
 Development of reliable and alternate sources for existing components in related to all WTG major & minor
components and Maintaining periodic tracking sheet for vendors from ordering stage of materials until reach at
assembly plant.

Highlights

 Self-engaged in testing Wind turbine power and control panels at vendor premises with the support of
technical team during non-availability of QC Team.
 Initiated GPS and GPRS based tracking system for consignments tracking, which help in locating and follow the
vehicle movement, these avoiding delivery delays and improves in reducing transit lead time.

Garuda Vaayu Shakthi Limited, Chennai Since Oct’13 to April’15

Garuda vaayu shakthi limited manufacturing Gear type wind turbine, it holds manufacturing of unique hybrid concept
(Gearosynch Technology) combining the advantages of gear box and high speed permanent magnet synchronous
generator (PMSG), is leading to optimum generation output.
Garuda owns IP rights for its both G700 and G1700 KW turbines for Global market and it offers an End-to-End solution
to the customers with optimized project development in mind and timely execution of the project on turnkey basis.

Worked as Engineer – Supply Chain

Key Deliverables

 Accountable for purchasing of Electrical components like Control system, Converter panels, Circuit breakers,
Connectors, Motors, cables, Surge and over-voltage protecting devices, Relays, Braking resistors and
otherelectrical & mechanical consumables for our G700.54 & G1700.54 KW Wind Turbine models.
 Ensuring selection of right vendors for the Requested materials by End-user and ensure Correct and Timely
procurement of required materials.
 Responsible for initiating the material requirements based on the Business plan from management, also
answerable for initiating the indents from Production, Projects, Engineering, R&D and O&M.
 Responsible for negotiating, finalizing contract terms, price and issuing PO to the vendors.
 Liaison with suppliers and expediting for the timely delivery of materials.
 Arranging FAT/ Inspection and dispatch of materials, also ensuring safety of the goods transported, Prevent
