Differentiate accuracy and precision

Both accuracy and precision reflect how close a measurement is to an actual value, but they are not
the same. Accuracy is a measure of how close a measurement is to the correct or
accepted value of the quantity being measured.Precision is a measure of how close a
series of measurements are to one another. The example of a darts board is often used when
talking about the difference between accuracy and precision.Accurately hitting the target means you
are close to the centre of the target, even if all the marks are on different sides of the centre.
Precisely hitting a target means all the hits are closely spaced, even if they are very far from the
centre of the target.

Differenciate mass and weight

Although we often use mass and weight interchangeably in our everyday lives, they have quite difference
in chemistry. In science we define the MASS of a body as the amount of matter in the body. The mass of an object
is a fixed and unvarying quantity that is independent of the object’s location.

FORMULA: Mass = volume × density

SI UNIT: Kilogram (kg)

Scientists define the WEIGHT of an object as the measure of the earth’s gravitational attraction for that
object. Weight is measured by an object known as scale, which measure force against a spring. Unlike mass, weight
greatly varies in relation to the position of an object on Earth.

FORMULA: Weight = mass × acceleration due to gravity

SI UNIT: Newton (N)

In your own words, how will you apply the different standard measurement in your day to day life?

Measurement is a part of everyday life. It is an essential life skill.

Measurement is one of the most important and widely used applications of

mathematics. It is used or applief different standard meaasurements,
Through the help o Parents can help children see the relevance of
measurement in the real world by pointing out it’s applications as it arises in
their life on a daily basis.

Different standard of measurements plays a big role in everyone’s day to day lives. It is considered as an
essentials tool that is widely used by people to solve everyday problems such as finding out how big,
how long or far and how heavy something is, or its volume, length or mass. Indeed,
measurements are part of our everyday life. From home to school and store to office, going to
grocery stores and baking, there are application of measurements going on. For example, I can apply the
different standard of measurement when I’m not feeling well or sick, I usually have to consume or take
our medicine, but before that, I make use of measurement by getting the right amount of medicine I
need to take given by my doctors. It may be on grams, mg, and ml. I can aslo apply Different Standard of
Measurements in transportation. When I am are driving to go somewhere, application of measurement
arises when I am using the speedometer of my car to know how fast I am taking and how long the
distance of my destination is. Furthermore, when I am just simply cooking for our breakfast, I use
measurement to determine the exact amount of ingredients like spices that I need to put in order have
the taste that I desire. Thus, I can apply these different standard of measurements in my daily routine by
applying them in everything I do such as by counting money, cooking food, buying groceries, checking
our weight, and taking our medicine.
