Permanent packer
It is accepted that expansion process of ESS needs fixed end. A packer meets this
necessity. Taking into the account that, the packer will be a part of casing SAB-3 Baker
Hughes has been selected. This packer is a permanent packer, which is set by the
hydraulic pressure. Unique interlocking, expandable metal back-up ring prevents packer
rubber extrusion. This makes the packer ideal for high angle deviated wells, common in
offshore operations

The SAB-3 baker Hughes is set by the hydraulic pressure. A plugging device is
attached below the packer. Then after, plugging the main mandrel sets off the hydraulic
pressure to build up which results in moving internal piston. As consequence, the
movements of piston lead to upper anchors, seal elements and down anchors set,
respectively.

Setting procedure
Here is setting instruction procedure for setting the SAB-3 Baker Hughes hydraulic
packer.
- Run blanking plug below the packer.
 E- hydro trip sub can be substituted for blanking plug; in this case a ball must
be dropped into the tubing.
- pump fluid to achieve the sufficient pressure as a setting activator.

Milling procedure
Considering the fact that SAB-3 Baker Hughes is permanent packer, after service life
the packer will be mill out.
