Dear Ms. Weisgerber,

My name is Rayanne Becker and I am incredibly excited to join your grade five class at Elm
Street School. I am looking forward to gaining experience and expanding my knowledge in your
classroom. I completed one year of post-secondary school at Medicine Hat College before
transferring to the University of Lethbridge in the Fall of 2018. I am enrolled in the Bachelor of
Education / Bachelor of Arts program with a major in English and a minor in Social Studies, and
I am on course to graduate following the upcoming Fall 2021 semester.

My previous practicum experiences have been in grade one classrooms, where I taught a little of
everything, including English Language Arts, Social, Science, Math, Art, and Gym. I am looking
forward to the opportunity to be a student teacher in a grade five classroom and broaden my
teaching experience.

Prior to my post-secondary education I was involved in 4-H for eight years. 4-H is a non-profit
program, usually in rural communities, that teaches youth how to be productive citizens.
Throughout my 4-H career I held many positions, including President, Vice President, Secretary,
Reporter, Jr. Council Representative and Historian. 4-H taught me leadership and accountability,
gave me experience with public speaking and created in me a passion for youth and ranching. I
also have volunteer experience within Sunday school classes at Bridge Church in Medicine Hat,
Alberta. I cared for children of multiple ages and acted as an aid to the Sunday school teacher.

On a personal note, I enjoy reading, playing volleyball, hiking, and playing board games with
family and friends. Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, I have moved home to my
family’s ranch, where I live with two of my three younger siblings and my parents. My family
also has a dog named Katie, in addition to chickens, cattle, and horses.
I look forward to bringing my professional experience and passion for learning to your
classroom. I am eager to grow in the skills I already possess, but most importantly, I hope to
grow in my professional knowledge and abilities and be a positive contribution in the lives of
your students.
Sincerely,

Rayanne Becker
